Geodeback Location

Can be Caught in the Sub-Idyllian Ruins

Geodeback can be caught in the large open area at the center of the Sub-Idyllian Ruins, located beneath Nimbus Fields. The entrance to this underground area can be found to the north of the Argent Strait teleporter.

Note: There is another entrance to the ruins that leads directly to the Chasing Clouds Sanctum. However, it is much more difficult to reach the Geodeback using this entrance.

1
Find the Entrance in Argent Strait
The entrance to the Sub-Idyllian Ruins can be found to the north of the Argent Strait teleporter. To start, fast travel to the teleporter and head north. Just up the cliff, nestled between darkened rocks, you'll find the entrance to the ruins. You can easily spot the entrance since it will have a bonfire in front of it and a Cave Explorer NPC standing vigil.
2
Find the Crystal Cave Bloom
From the entrance, head deeper into the cave while burning through the roots you find using any Fire aniimo in your roster. Eventually, you'll find yourself facing a short drop that leads into a semi-large room that contains the Crystal Cave bloom. Interact with it to activate a convenient fast travel point for later.
3
Jump Down to the Lower Levels
Jump Down to the Lower LevelsContinue down the cave until you reach a hole that leads to the ruins' lower levels. Jump straight down, as the water at the bottom will break your fall and prevent you from taking damage.
4
Swim Until You Reach the Cave-In
Swim Until You Reach the Cave-InOnce you are in the water, follow the stream until you reach a cave-in. You will know you've reached it when you see various Pebblings, as well as some glowing orange crystals.
5
Tunnel Into the Central Cave
Tunnel Into the Central CaveFrom the cave-in, use an aniimo with the Tunnel mobility skill to dig underground and tunnel into the Central Cave. We recommend using a Pebbling to prevent the aniimo inside the cave from escaping or going hostile.
6
Go to the Central Cave's Upper Area
Upon emerging into the central cave, you should see a ramp directly in front of you that leads to the upper level. Use it to reach the Geodeback on the second level of this central cave area.

Can be Evolved from Pebbling

Pebbling Evolution Track
Alternatively, you can also evolve your Pebbling directly into a Geodeback without having to go through the Sub-Idyllian Ruins.

Geodeback Best Team

Good Alternative Break Aniimo in Most Teams

Geodeback can serve as an alternative Break aniimo in most teams, while Minespine is not yet available. Its kit is built around pure Break damage and isn’t tied to any specific setup. Its greatest asset is the ability to cast skills while burrowed underground with Tunnel, allowing it to deal continuous damage while remaining immune to attacks.

On the downside, it consumes a lot of EP and its Break setup can feel lengthy in certain team comps. Even so, the unique Tunnel mechanic adds significant value, making Geodeback a versatile and resilient option for many teams.

Best Personality
E S F J

As a Break aniimo, E is the top priority for Geodeback because of the bonus ATK and Break stats.

Geodeback's best stats are Break and Regen. Break allows it to break targets more efficiently, while Regen compensates for Geodeback EP-hungry kit.

Tier 2 Effect: BREAK +10%. If BREAK Acquired Potential exceeds 15 points, the effect is doubled.

Geodeback's best Held item is Gargantuan Horn. It significantly boosts Minespine's Break potential.

How to Play Geodeback

Recommended Skill Rotation

  1. If the team has buffs and debuffs, use the skills first to apply them.
  2. Switch now to Geodeback, then Tunnel underground and use Earth Spikes and Stone Shell while burrowed.
  3. Once the target is broken, switch to a DPS aniimo and execute its combo.
  4. If the team needs EP, switch to a Regen aniimo and use the corresponding skill.

Cast Skills While Tunneling

Geodeback can cast skills while burrowed underground with Tunnel, enabling continuous Break damage while remaining immune to attacks. Keep moving while burrowed to make it harder for enemies to land hits, maximizing both safety and damage output. Stone Shell is the best skill to use while Tunneling, since it's a ranged skill. This allows Geodeback to inflict Break damage from a safe distance.

Tunnel Mobility Skill Effect

Watch Out for Pound Skills

It's important to note that Pound skills—such as Light Bombardment—directly counters the Tunnel mobility skill. When struck by a Pound skill, Geodeback is forced to unburrow from the ground, disrupting its defensive positioning.

Use to Reclaim, Mine, and Haul

If Geodeback isn't part of your team, it can reclaim land, mine resources, and haul produce to the Home storage in your Homeland.

Defeat the Alpha Minespine to Unlock its Evolution Branch
If you intend to evolve your Geodeback into a Minespine, you must first defeat the Alpha Minespine. However, before you can find its arena, you'll first need to collect 120 Lumin Amber in Breezy Plains. After you hit this milestone, the roots blocking Alpha Minespine's arena beneath Beast Fang Ridge will disappear, allowing you to unlock its Alpha Boss Fight.
