Pawney and Snowfield Pawney using Weakening Smash on a Dark-element aniimo.
STAB is an abbreviation for the term Same-Type Attack Bonus, and is taken into account in Aniimo even if it was not explicitly stated to be part of the game. This gives certain dual-type aniimos an edge, as some have kits with skills that aren't their innate element (i.e., base Fulmintis having a Light-type skill despite Lightning being its innate element).

Both Pawneys have 409 ATK. Snowfield Pawney's DMG numbers were adjusted to match the Dark DMG Pawney dealt.
Based on our testing, the damage bonus that STAB provides is roughly 10%. This was tested using Pawney and Snowfield Pawney, with Alpha Ignitis as the target since it is neutral to both Dark and Ice. Weakening Slam and Weakening Smash were then used by both Pawneys, with the third cast's damage recorded.
The recorded damage numbers for Snowfield Pawney were then adjusted to make the Dark DMG it dealt consistent with the DMG the regular Pawney dealt. The adjustment was then applied to the Ice DMG that Snowfield Pawney dealt. Finally, the Ice DMG numbers were compared, resulting in a roughly 10% damage increase.
STAB, or Same-Type Attack Bonus, is a mechanic that originated from the Pokémon series. It is applied when an aniimo uses an attack that is the same element as itself.
For example, STAB applies when Snowfield Pawney (dual Ice and Dark type) uses Weakening Smash (Ice-type move), but does not apply when Pawney (pure Dark type) uses it.
