Infergon Location

Can Be Evolved from a Perfect Jawling or Helmwhelp

To get an Infergon, you'll have to defeat Omega Infergon, then evolve it from a Jawling or Helmwhelp with Perfect Potential. In order to farm a Perfect candidate, you can go around spam-catching them in Russet Highlands (or via a nurtured bloom in the same region).

Once you have a Perfect Jawling or Helmwhelp, you can then evolve them to an Infergon. However, do note that the Mountain Jawling and Mountain Helmwhelp cannot evolve into an Infergon. They can only evolve into a Mountain Helgon.

Russet Highlands 100% Exploration Guide

Unlock Omega Infergon by Completing the Warrior Quest in Russet Highlands

The major requirement for getting an Infergon is completing the Warrior quest in Russet Highlands (not to be confused with the Journey: Warrior in Beast Fang Ridge). You can start this side quest by finding Sorora, the Mysterious Painter near the western side of Russet Highlands.

Infergon will be the team's main DPS, dealing more damage the more Fire Debuffs the enemy has. Magmarex will be the team's Break aniimo, and can consistently apply Fire Debuff while breaking the enemy. Flamerion and Sparkelf will be the Regen and Support of the team, respectively, providing Fire Debuff applications, damage buffs, and healing.

Alternative Aniimo Options

Inferlupa IconInferlupa
Inferlupa is a strong Break aniimo, although you may have trouble stacking Fire Debuffs if you use it.
Somniwing IconSomniwing
Somniwing can help ensure that your team has EP. However, you may have a hard time managing the enemy's Fire Debuffs.

Lava Breath (Infergon)Lava Breath (Infergon) Flaming ClawsFlaming Claws Hot BreathHot Breath
(Ultimate)

Flaming Claws is Infergon's main source of damage, as it can consume Fire Debuff stacks to deal more damage to enemies. Fire Debuffs can easily be applied using Lava Breath, so you will always have Fire Debuffs to consume to empower Flaming Claws.

Best Personality
E S T P

E and S are priority personality traits for Infergon as it increases its overall damage output. Follow this up with T and P for additional survivability afterward.

Attack and Regen are important stats for Infergon. This allows him to deal more damage while also recovering Energy fast so that it can cast Flaming Claws multiple times.

Best Held Item

Rarity Legendary
Effects
Core Effect: Increases damage dealt by 5% when using the same skill consecutively. Stacks up to 5 times.
Tier 1 Effect: Grants an additional 15% DMG boost after using the same skill 3 times consecutively.

Infergon can easily activate Echoing Grimoire's Core and Tier 1 Effects when using Flaming Claws, as you can recast the skill often. This allows you to stack damage boosts on Infergon, further improving its damage output.

Should You Form a Contract with Your Held Item?

Lava Breath (Infergon) IconLava Breath (Infergon)
【BOOSTED】
Lava Breath now applies an additional four stacks of Fire Debuff, bringing it up from 8 to a total of 12.

We do not recommend forming a contract with the held item, as you should have no problems applying Fire Debuff on enemies if you are using a mono-fire team.

How to Play Infergon

Recommended Skill Rotation

  1. Activate buffs from your support Aniimo. If you are running Sparkelf, use Inspiration to give the team a Fire Element Boost.
  2. Swap to Flamerion and use Trick Fire Ring to apply Fire Debuffs on enemies.
  3. Switch to Magmarex and use Flaming Breath to apply multiple Fire Debuffs and whittle down the enemy's Break gauge. Only use Lava Punch if it is contracted or if you have an Alpha Magmarex.
  4. Once the enemy is broken, swap to Sparkelf and use Inspiration and Keep the Fire Bolt Going! (if it is available). Swap to Flamerion after and use Phantom Barrage to recover EP for the team.
  5. Swap to Infergon and use Flaming Breath to apply more Fire Debuffs. Afterward, spam Flaming Claws continuously while the enemy has more than 5 Fire Debuffs to take advantage of Power of Fire.
  6. If Infergon's Ultimate Skill Hot Breath is available, use it for massive damage.
  7. Once the enemy has recovered, swap back to Sparkelf and repeat the rotation.

Apply Fire Debuff With Flaming Breath

Infergon's Flaming Breath can quickly apply a large number of Fire Debuffs on enemies. If the enemy has fewer than five Fire Debuffs, use Flaming Breath to quickly reapply them, as Infergon's Power of Fire Trait increases its damage output when the enemy has five or more Fire Debuffs.

Use Flaming Claws When Enemy Has Fire Debuffs

Flaming Claws is a huge bulk of Infergon's damage, especially if the enemy has Fire Debuff stacks. This is because Flaming Claws can consume two Fire Debuffs to deal additional damage. Additionally, Infergon can recast Flaming Claws once, so make sure the enemy has at least four Fire Debuffs to maximize the skill's damage.

Use Ultimate When Available For Massive Damage

Infergon's Ultimate, Hot Breath, deals a massive amount of damage to enemies and reapplies 8 stacks of Fire Debuff. While it is ideal to use this while the enemy is broken for maximum damage, you can use it anytime it is available for the damage and Fire Debuff application.

Use To Cook, Smelt, And Provide Heat In Homeland

If Infergon is not in your active party, you can assign it to cook food, smelt materials, and provide heat in your Homeland.

Requires a Perfect Helmwhelp or Jawling to Evolve

To evolve Helmwhelp into Infergon, you must capture a Helmwhelp with perfect potential. However, if you already have a Jawling with perfect potential, you can evolve it into Helmwhelp, and the newly evolved Helmwhelp will retain that perfect potential. From there, you can proceed to evolve it into Infergon.
