A Blazen can be found trapped inside a cage near the Blitzwood fast travel point. You can enter the building from an opening on one of its sides. Once inside, pick up the ball using your Pathfinder's Gravity Pull talent and place it on the receptacle near the cage. Then, charge it using a Lightning skill to open the cage.

The Alpha Blazen can be caught after you defeat it in Blitzwood. If you have some Aniipod Ultras to spare, you can guarantee the catch by using that after defeating the boss for the first time.

Chance to Spawn During Blitzwood Wild Surges

Wild Surge Location in Blitzwood

If you don't want to spend an Aniipod Ultra to guarantee an Alpha Blazen catch, you can instead opt to nurture the Bloom in Blitzwood and cause a Wild Surge.

Before nurturing, you can feed the Blitzwood branch with Lightning Shards to guarantee Bolty spawns as these spawns are the ones that have a chance to spawn in Blazens.

Best Used in Lightning Teams

Blazen is the only Lightning Break aniimo currently in the game, which makes it an essential party member in any lightning team, especially when fighting enemies that are weak to it.

Blazen's trait, Power Sustain, grants a shield and reduces the EP cost of all skills for a period of time after using Lightning Flash or dealing 6 critical hits. This trait makes it possible to tank a few hits and easily break an enemy by spamming skills, leading to less on-field time and more EP for the team to use if Blazen hits a critical strike.

Blazen's best skills are Electrified Impact and Lightning Cross. Electrified Impact deals unblockable break damage and refunds 5 EP on a critical hit. Lightning Cross fires a three-hit projectile that deals high break damage per hit. This can also be used on a flying aniimo.

Blazen wants E and N to obtain more break and critical chance stats. As for its survivability, T and P allow Blazen to reduce physical damage taken as well as universal damage reduction from all attacks.

Blazen's best stats are Break and Regen. Prioritizing Break allows it to easily reduce the break gauge of the enemy quickly, while Regen helps quickly regain EP for more skill use.

Blazen's best held item is Gargantuan Horn. It helps increase the break stat significantly, especially when Blazen has 15 or more break potential.

Should You Form a Contract with Your Held Item?

We do not recommend forming a contract with the Held Item. Reducing the EP cost of Electrified Impact by 3 during Blazen's Overcharged state is too little to matter in a fight.

How to Play Blazen

Recommended Skill Rotation

  1. This skill rotation works best if you enter a fight with one full bar of Ultimate ready to use.
  2. Before you use Lightning Flash, make sure to use the lock-on feature.
  3. After using Lightning Flash, spam Electrified Impact until you run out of EP or the enemy breaks.
  4. If the enemy can fly, use Lightning Cross instead. Continue using it until the enemy breaks.
  5. Once the enemy breaks, switch to your DPS aniimo and do its skill rotation.
  6. Repeat the rotation after the enemy regains its break gauge and you have one ultimate charge.

Only Use Skills During Overcharged

Blazen 8 EP Skills

We highly recommend using Blazen's ultimate skill, Lightning Flash, instead of relying on landing 6 critical hits to activate Overcharged. It allows you to save your EP for Electrified Impact or the skills of your aniimo in the party.

Electrified Impact Has 0 Cooldown

Blazen's core skill, Electrified Impact, is a dash that has 0 cooldown and can deal decent break damage. You can easily spam this skill without delay, which allows Blazen to tear down the break gauge even against enemies that are not weak to lightning.

Use Lightning Cross Against Flying Enemies

If you are fighting an enemy that can fly, you can use Lightning Cross to reach the enemy. The range is not high but it is enough to reach most aniimo that has the ability to fly during battle.

Used For Electricity and Crafting Goods

If Blazen is not in your active party, you can assign it to passively provide electricity to your Homeland and craft goods to each facility.
