Complete the Journey: Warrior Quest in Beast Fang Ridge

Journey Warrior

Inferlupa can only be obtained via evolution. To unlock its evolution branch for the Flameruff, you'll need to complete the Journey: Warrior side quest in Beast Fang Ridge. This is not to be confused with the Journey: Warrior side quest that you can accept in the Russet Highlands.

However, do note that unlike other side quests, Journey: Warrior will take multiple real-life days to complete, so make sure you get started early in order to gain access to Inferlupa for your team-building needs.

Inferlupa's best team revolves around those that can easily follow up once it Breaks enemies, as well as those that can buff it and the chosen DPS during the damage window. Scorchhowl will be the primary Fire DPS in this team, with Somniwing and Sparkelf as the team's Regen and Support Aniimo. Sparkelf will provide both Inferlupa and Scorchhowl with buffs, while Somniwing will ensure that the party has enough EP to use their skills.

Alternative Aniimo Options

Hexxin IconHexxin
Hexxin can be an alternative to Somniwing. Since Inferlupa's Basic Attacks deal Dark damage, it can easily recover EP for the team thanks to Hexxin's Trait.
Ignitis IconIgnitis
Ignitis can serve as the team's DPS if you prefer a Dark-oriented team.
Stellarys IconStellarys
Similar to Ignitis, Stellarys can serve as your Dark DPS if you prefer a Ranged DPS.
Fragrancier IconFragrancier
Fragrancier's Dangerous Fragrance Trait, as well as its Fragrance Marking skill, synergizes well with Inferlupa, making it a great Support in Dark teams.

Unbroken Flameruff Spirit is Inferlupa's strongest skill, applying a stacking debuff that makes enemies take increased Break damage. Hunting Pack will be its second skill, allowing it to deal good damage with its clones.

Best Personality
E S F P

Prioritize getting E and S personalities on Inferlupa to improve its Breaking capabilities. Follow that up with F and P for survivability, although this is not as strict.

Break and Regen are Inferlupa's most important stats. Break improves its ability to drain the enemy's Break bar, while Regen allows Inferlupa to quickly gain EP, which lets it spam skills.

Effects
Core Effect: Equipped Aniimo gain 0.7 additional BREAK per level.
Tier 1 Effect: BREAK +2
Tier 2 Effect: BREAK +10%. If BREAK Acquired Potential exceeds 15 points, the effect is doubled.

Gargantuan Horn is the best held item for Inferlupa thanks to its ability to increase its Break stat by a sizable amount, especially with its Tier 2 effect.

How to Play Inferlupa

Recommended Skill Rotation

  1. Activate buffs from your support Aniimo. If you have Sparkelf, use Keep the Fire Bolt Going and Inspiration.
  2. Swap to Inferlupa, then use Unbroken Flameruff Spirit to increase Break efficiency. Use other Skills like Crossfire or Hunting Pack to deal more damage and Break enemies.
  3. Once the enemy is broken, swap to your DPS and attack the enemy. If you have the EP to spare, swap to your buffer first to reapply buffs before swapping to your chosen DPS.
  4. Switch to your Regen Aniimo to recover EP, then repeat the rotation. If you are using Somniwing, cast Ethereal Light Wave or Butterfly Dance to easily recover EP.

Can Be Used in Both Fire and Dark Teams

Inferlupa Elements

Inferlupa is a dual-type Fire and Dark Aniimo. Because of this, as well as its access to moves from both elements, Inferlupa is a great addition to both Fire and Dark teams. This gives it flexibility, allowing it to be used against a wider variety of enemies.

Use Unbroken Flameruff Spirit to Easily Break Enemies

Unbroken Flameruff Spirit is Inferlupa's most important skill, as it increases Break efficiency on hit enemies. This can stack up to three times, providing a 30% increase when capped out. This makes it easier for Inferlupa to reduce the enemy's Break bar, especially since it can reapply this debuff over and over again.

Unbroken Flameruff Spirit Can Bounce Between Enemies

If you are fighting multiple enemies, Unbroken Flameruff Spirit can bounce between enemies, applying the Break efficiency debuff on all hit enemies. Take note that the more enemies there are, the fewer total debuff stacks they will receive.

Charge Full Energy to Empower Skills

Performing Basic Attacks with Inferlupa fills up its Full Energy gauge. After performing eight basic attacks, Inferlupa will enter the Full Energy State, empowering the next skill it uses. For example, Unbroken Flameruff Spirit will bounce an additional two times when empowered. Crossfire, on the other hand, receives a damage buff when empowered.

To take advantage of this mechanic, make sure to fill up its Full Energy gauge first before using any of Inferlupa's Skills.

Use Ultimate When Available to Deal Damage

Wolfpack Onslaught, Inferlupa's Ultimate, deals a massive amount of damage to enemies that get hit by its clone. Use it when available to deal damage to enemies, as well as reduce their Break bar by a large amount.

Use to Harvest Crops and Trees, Cook Food, and Carry Items in Homeland

If Inferlupa is not in your active party, you can assign it to harvest crops and trees, cook food, and carry resources and handcrafted goods in your Homeland.

Obtain Unbroken Flameruff Spirit from Mighty Flameruffs

To evolve your Flameruff into an Inferlupa, you'll need to collect 6 Unbroken Flameruff Spirits. These are dropped by a new type of Flameruff that now appears in Beast Fang Ridge (identified by their “Flameruff ・The Mighty” name tag). You'll find them in the plateau east of the Alpha Scorchhowl.

Do note that these new Flameruffs only appear after you complete the Journey: Warrior side quest in Beast Fang Ridge. Plus, these evolution materials are not a guaranteed drop so you'll have to fight and defeat multiple Elite Flameruffs in order to get the required 6 drops.
