Whether you picked Helion or Lunara, it is worth leveling them up and investing materials in their Star Ranks and Capability Awakening as they perform well even in endgame modes like Egg Heist. It is recommended to build your team around them first to have a smoother progression.
Best Starter Aniimo: Helion or Lunara?

Aniimo is built around team synergy, so aim for a balanced lineup of DPS, Break, Regen, and Heal units. Stacking only DPS Aniimo will cause you EP (Energy Points) issues, resulting in a total DPS loss, while running all Supports drags fights out unnecessarily due to the lack of damage. A balanced squad covers everyone's weaknesses.
If you are feeling more confident or if you are using an Aniimo that can self-sustain, you can swap out your Heal Aniimo for a Support Aniimo to get buffs instead.

Several Aniimo like Rainstorm Stellarys and Thunderstorm Thornblade only appear during specific weather conditions, so keep an eye on your map. In-game weather changes in real time, and since you cannot manually change normal weather yet outside of triggering Prismana Flow with a Prismana Crystal, missing a spawn can leave you waiting for hours or even days.

Homeland management is a major feature in Aniimo. Once you hit Level 20, head over to your Homeland and assign Homeland Aniimo to tend to faming and mining. Since these take hours of real-time progress, starting on your Homeland early pays off in the long run. Leveling it up provides Growth Buds and Aniipods that will help you throughout your playthrough.

Aniimo has daily and weekly tasks that you do not want to miss, as accomplishing these gives you 3000 EXP and an Incredible Egg. The priority is making sure you consume your Primegy on fighting Alpha and Omega Aniimo to earn materials for ascending Star Ranks and investing in Capability Awakening. Avoid capping your Primegy with Primegy Batteries whenever possible.
Do not forget to buy items with weekly buying limits, such as items from the Stamp Shop and limited stock from vendors like Joff. Clearing these ensures you get the most value out of every week in Idyll!

During your progress, you will want to make multiple teams with different elements to handle different encounters accordingly. Press the H key on PC, or hold the Triangle button or Y button and press the L1 button on consoles, to open your presets and swap teams on the fly.

Nurturing Blooms through the Breezy Plains Branch is a reliable way to trigger Wild Surges and Prismana Flow in a region. This spawns native Aniimo and raises regional Prismana Energy levels, giving you a better chance to encounter Prismana Aniimo. You start with three free Nurture attempts, and this replenishes by one every day, so be sure to use them all, especially during Vein Abundance events.

Lumin Ambers are open-world collectibles that you turn in at a region's Branch for major perks, including increased Stamina while exploring and the ability to spawn Prismana Aniimo with Prismana Crystals. Make sure to grab them while exploring different areas around the map.

The easiest way to catch Aniimo is sneaking behind them before throwing your Aniipod. Landing a back strike boosts your capture rate by 150% and usually bypasses combat entirely. Do not hesitate to throw rapidly either, since missed Aniipods automatically return to you if they fail to hit anything.
You also have a chance to get a Lucky Catch while catching Aniimo, which raises the Prismatic Energy within an area.
Capturing Guide: Best Tips for Catching Aniimo

As you progress, the game will lock Main Story quests and Aniimo level caps behind character level requirements.
The most effective way to gain levels is to work through the Elite Training Program provided by Dr. Lewis, which awards large amounts of EXP for clearing its objectives. You also get Somniwing for free if you manage to get 180 Points in total from completing missions.
Focus on the capture tasks first, because catching an Aniimo for the very first time also grants a substantial amount of bonus EXP on its own.

Events are very important in the game, as some Aniimo can only be obtained via events, such as Aniimo Discovery and Vein Abundance. Make sure you are checking the Events tab daily and engaging in the different activities. Beyond Aniimo, events also offer great rewards, such as Sparkling Cubes and Starcryst Essences.

Taking advantage of Elemental and Spatial counters makes all the difference in combat. Matching the right element against an enemy massively boosts your damage to finish fights much faster. Spatial counters are just as crucial for staying alive, letting you use movement skills like Tunnel to dodge ranged hits.
Elemental and Spatial Counters Explained

Twining with your Aniimo is essential, but using Character Talents during Command Mode is also an effective way to engage in battle. These skills let you heal, buff, or attack directly depending on your setup. Take time to review your character talents and trigger them when the moment is right.

Exploring Idyll takes time, so use Mobility skills to speed up your travel. Starters like Lunara and Helion have access to Hustle, letting you dash forward and sprint across the map using stamina.
Other Mobility skills like Tunnel and Pound are just as useful, allowing you to smash through obstacles and environmental traps blocking your path.

Incubating Aniimo takes hours, so keep your Hatchinators running around the clock. Build several of them in your Homeland to speed up the process and make sure to pet your Hatchinators. This provides a steady passive stream of new Aniimo and gives you extra chances to pull rare finds.
