Thunderstorm Scorchhowl’s strongest skill is Burn Breaker, which unleashes massive damage on enemies directly in front of it, especially when used with full EP. Its second skill, Lightning Kick, is the Lightning‑type variation of Fire Kick. When Lightning Kick successfully dodges an attack, its damage increases and the target is inflicted with Paralysis, making it a versatile offensive and counterplay tool.

We don't recommend forming a contract since the boosted effect does not increase the skill's damage output, only adding a dash to the skill when used. Since you will mostly be using this skill on a stationary target, and since the skill's area of effect is pretty large, there is no need to form a contract.
How to Play Thunderstorm Scorchhowl
Recommended Skill Rotation
- Use Sparkelf's Inspiration and Keep the Fire Bolt Going! to amplify Thunderstorm Scorchhowl's Fire skills and Luminelle's Self-Destruction to increase Lightning Kick's damage.
- Swap to Thunderstorm Scorchhowl and use a fully-charged Burn Breaker. If the enemy attacks, use Lightning Kick to dodge.
- Switch again to Luminelle and use Lightning Surge to amplify Thunderstorm Scorchhowl's basic attack damage and BREAK efficiency.
- Switch to your Regen Aniimo to recover EP, then repeat the rotation.
Use Against Enemies Weak to Fire and/or Lightning
As a dual Fire/Lightning type, Thunderstorm Scorchhowl is effective against enemies weak to either element, giving it broad flexibility in elemental matchups. While no aniimo is weak to both Fire and Lightning simultaneously, those with dual typings that include weaknesses to either element still take significantly increased damage, allowing Thunderstorm Scorchhowl to exploit multiple vulnerabilities at once.
An example of this is Somniwing, which is both Grass and Wind. Since Grass is weak to Fire and Wind is weak to Lightning, Somniwing takes increased damage from Thunderstorm Scorchhowl.

When using Thunderstorm Scorchhowl’s exclusive Lightning skill, Lightning Kick, it’s essential to have one Lightning support like Luminelle and one Fire support like Sparkelf on the team. The Lightning support applies debuffs that amplify Lightning Kick's damage, while the Fire support enhances Thunderstorm Scorchhowl’s Fire skills. This dual support setup ensures Thunderstorm Scorchhowl consistently deals maximum damage across both elements.
Capitalize on Lightning Kick's Paralysis Effect
When Thunderstorm Scorchhowl successfully dodges an attack with Lightning Kick, it inflicts Paralysis on hit targets for 5 seconds, reducing their movement and basic attack speed by 60%. This debuff creates a critical window of vulnerability, allowing you to push the offense and unleash maximum damage while enemies are slowed and unable to retaliate effectively. The effect is also valuable in PvP and Pathfinder challenges, as it can slow down the opponents' DPS aniimo, greatly reducing their efficiency.
Fully Charge Burn Breaker With Max EP
Burn Breaker's damage scales off of two things: charge duration and available EP. Pressing the skill will deal the least damage, while charging it until it casts on its own will deal the maximum amount of damage. Using Burn Breaker when you have 30 EP will deal the minimum amount of damage to enemies, with the damage increasing by 30% for every extra 10 EP. However, do take note that Burn Breaker will use up all of your EP when charged to full.
