Magmarex Best Team

Good Break Aniimo With Fire Debuff Utility

Magmarex performs well as a Break aniimo for Fire teams. Unlike Inferlupa, it has the ability to apply plenty of Fire Debuff stacks while breaking enemies. This makes it especially useful for Infergon teams since Infergon can consume Fire Debuff stacks to increase its damage output.

However, Lava Breath consumes a large amount of EP. Pair Magmarex with a strong Regen aniimo to provide increased EP recovery and let it use Lava Breath efficiently. Compared to Prismana Magmarex, base Magmarex is twice weak to Water, making it very unfavorable against Water type matchups.

(Ultimate)

Build Magmarex around Lava Breath since it handles both of its main jobs: Breaking enemies and applying Fire Debuff. Lava Punch is only worth using when its boosted effect is active since it provides additional Break without consuming Fire Debuff stacks. However, getting this upgrade uses up too many resources unless you own an Alpha Magmarex. Burning Sun is another source of break and can be used whenever you have enough ultimate meter.

Prioritize Energetic (E) to increase Magmarex's Break stat to deal more Break damage to enemies.

Prioritize Break to improve Magmarex's ability to stun enemies. Regen is also good since it increases its passive EP recovery and helps it manage the high EP cost of Lava Breath.

Tier 1 Effect: BREAK +2
Tier 2 Effect: BREAK +10%. If BREAK Acquired Potential exceeds 15 points, the effect is doubled.

Gargantuan Horn is the preferred Held Item for a Magmarex. Its provides high break which lets Magmarex Stun enemies faster and perform its role as a Break aniimo more effectively.

Should You Form a Contract with Your Held Item?

Lava Punch IconLava Punch
【BOOSTED】
Lava Punch doesn't consume anymore Fire Debuff stacks to deal additional damage.

We recommend forming a contract with your held item, as this makes it easier to use Magmarex since Lava Punch no longer consumes the enemy's Fire Debuff stacks. This lets you use the skill for additional Break without interfering with Fire Debuff stacks intended for your Main DPS. If you're low on materials to form a contract, getting an Alpha Magmarex provides the same boosted Lava Punch effect.

How to Play Magmarex

Recommended Skill Rotation

  1. Set up an EP recovery buff before switching to Magmarex. This helps it maintain enough EP to use Lava Breath efficiently.
  2. Swap to Magmarex and use Lava Breath to break the enemy while building Fire Debuff stacks.
  3. Activate your buffs from your support aniimo after breaking the enemy to increase your Main DPS's damage.
  4. Switch to your Main DPS and deal heavy damage while your buffs are active and the enemy has Fire Debuff stacks.

Prepare EP Recovery Skill Before Using Lava Breath

Magmarex needs a large amount of EP to fully utilize Lava Breath. Set up an EP recovery buff before bringing Magmarex onto the field so it can spend more EP on Lava Breath without taking as much EP from the rest of the team.

Depending on its Regen stat, an EP recovery buff lets Magmarex retain at least 10 more EP after using Lava Breath compared to using the skill without one. This also gives it more room to apply Fire Debuff stacks before running out of EP. Somniwing's Ethereal Light Weave and Besauce's Charged Geyser are good options for providing this buff.

Best Regen Aniimo

Stay Close to Enemies for the Pyro Charge Trait

Magmarex activates its Pyro Charge Trait after the team spends 50 EP. It creates a field around it that applies Fire Debuff stacks to nearby enemies. Keep Magmarex close to the enemy while using Lava Breath to apply additional Fire Debuff stacks with Pyro Charge.

Be Mindful When Using Lava Punch

When Lava Punch is not boosted, it consumes all Fire Debuff stacks on the enemy, so keep track of the enemy's Fire Debuff stacks before using the skill so you don't remove them before your Main DPS can take advantage of them.

In contrast, the boosted version of Lava Punch does not consume any Fire Debuff stacks. When using an Alpha Magmarex, it will automatically have its core skill upgraded, but you can also access the boosted skill by forming a contract with its Held Item.

Use for Carrying, Fire, and Mining Resources in the Homeland

Outside of the active party, Magmarex can help in the Homeland by carrying resources, cooking, supplying heat, and mining resources.
