Alpha Scorchhowl Can be Caught in Beast Fang Ridge
The Alpha Scorchhowl can be caught after you defeat it in Beast Fang Ridge. If you have some Aniipod Ultras to spare, you can guarantee the catch by using that after defeating the boss for the first time.
Chance to Spawn During Beast Fang Ridge Wild Surges
If you don't want to spend an Aniipod Ultra to guarantee an Alpha Scorchhowl catch, you can instead opt to nurture the Bloom in Beast Fang Ridge and cause a Wild Surge.
Before nurturing, you can feed the Beast Fang Ridge branch with Fire Shards to guarantee Emberpup spawns as these spawns are the ones that have a chance to spawn in Scorchhowls.

Ethereal Light WaveScorchhowl's best team consists of Inferlupa, Somniwing, and Sparkelf. This team revolves around applying Somniwing and Sparkelf's buffs to the team, with Inferlupa dealing Break damage to the enemy. Once the enemy is broken, buffs are then reapplied so Scorchhowl can deal damage with either its Ultimate Skill Falling Star, or with a fully charged Burn Breaker. Somniwing will help provide EP to the team so that Scorchhowl can deal maximum damage with Burn Breaker.

 Flamerion
| Flamerion can be a substitute for Somniwing as it can also recover a large amount of EP as long as the enemy has numerous stacks of Fire Debuff. |

 Burn Breaker Burn Breaker After charging, unleashes a powerful blast forward, dealing damage. At max charge, consumes all remaining EP. For every extra 10 EP consumed, deals 30% extra damage. |
 Fire Kick Fire Kick Jumps up to dodge an attack, allowing flames to swirl around it before diving down and dealing damage to targets around the landing point. A successful dodge also deals 120% damage and increases damage by 20% for 20s. |

Burn Breaker is Scorchhowl's strongest Skill, allowing it to deal a large amount of damage to enemies in front of it, especially when used with full EP. Fire Kick will be Scorchhowl's second skill, which allows it to dodge enemy attacks. Additionally, when Fire Kick successfully dodges an attack, the damage it deals increases, and Scorchhowl receives a damage buff.

For Scorchhowl's personality, getting E (Energetic) and S (Practical) are a must, as they improve Scorchhowl's damage output. For the defensive bonuses, get F (Faithful) for the Magical Defense, as well as P (Playful) for the general DMG Reduction. |

Scorchhowl's best stats are Attack and Regen. Attack helps increase Scorchhowl's damage, while Regen helps it recover EP faster, allowing it to deal more damage with Burn Breaker.

Explosive Gloves synergizes well with Burn Breaker, as it increases Scorchhowl's damage based on how much EP it has left. Because it calculates the damage buff when you first use the skill, Scorchhowl gets the maximum possible damage buff, making Burn Breaker deal massive damage.

We don't recommend forming a contract since the boosted effect does not increase the skill's damage output, only adding a dash to the skill when used. Since you will mostly be using this skill on a stationary target, and since the skill's area of effect is pretty large, there is no need to form a contract.
How to Play Scorchhowl
Recommended Skill Rotation
- Activate buffs from your support Aniimo. If you have Sparkelf and Somniwing, use Inspiration and Ethereal Light Wave respectively.
- Swap to Inferlupa, then use Unbroken Flameruff Spirit to increase Break efficiency. Use other Skills like Hunting Pack to deal more damage and Break enemies.
- Once the enemy is broken, reapply Sparkelf and Somniwing's buffs. If available, use Sparkelf's Keep the Fire Bolt Going! as well.
- Swap to Scorchhowl and attack the enemy. If you have full EP, start charging Burn Breaker. Once fully charged, release to deal a ton of damage to the enemy.
- If the enemy attacks you while Scorchhowl is out, use Fire Kick to dodge before performing a counter-attack.
- Switch to your Regen Aniimo to recover EP, then repeat the rotation.
Use Against Enemies Weak to Fire
Scorchhowl's Trait, Scorching Flames, increases its damage by 25% when fighting elementally countered targets. To maximize Scorchhowl's damage, make sure to use it in fights where it has the elemental advantage, such as when fighting against Ice or Grass Aniimo.

Fully Charge Burn Breaker With Max EP
Burn Breaker's damage scales off of two things. Firstly, Burn Breaker's damage will depend on how long you charge it. Pressing the Skill will deal the least damage, while charging the Skill until it casts on its own will deal the maximum amount of damage.
Secondly, Burn Breaker will deal more damage the more EP you have. Using Burn Breaker when you have 30EP will deal the minimum amount of damage to enemies, with the damage increasing by 30% for every 10EP extra that Scorchhowl has. Take note that Burn Breaker will use up all of your EP when charged to full.
Use Fire Kick to Dodge Attacks
Fire Kick is a strong attack you can use to dodge enemy attacks, whether ranged or melee. Taking an attack during Fire Kick's animation will cancel the damage from said attack, making it useful against slow, powerful attacks.
Fire Kick is Stronger on Successful Dodge
When you successfully dodge an attack with Fire Kick (signified by the flash of light), it will deal additional damage to the enemy. Additionally, Scorchhowl will receive a damage buff, increasing its damage by 20% for 20 seconds. Try to dodge enemy attacks often to constantly reapply the damage buff.
Use to Cook Food and Carry Resources in Homeland
If Scorchhowl is not in your active party, you can assign it to cook food and carry resources and handcrafted goods in your Homeland.
