Since Jilly’s team consists of two Fire aniimo and one Grass aniimo, forming a team of Water, Lightning, or Light aniimo is ideal. Sherro and Piopiota counter Scorchhowl and Magmarex through their typing advantage, with Piopiota serving as Sherro’s support by creating water puddles that activate its Tidal Heart trait. Against Somniwing, Light Aniimo such as Helion or Lunara prove highly effective, ensuring strong coverage across Jilly’s lineup.
Prismana Glacy or Glacy can also work effectively against Scorchhowl. Its ranged attacks and healing provides a good balance of offense and sustain.
Jilly often uses Magmarex to deplete your aniimo’s Break gauge and stagger them, then quickly switches to Scorchhowl to charge up Burn Breaker, dealing heavy damage. To avoid being caught in this combo, focus on dodging Magmarex’s skills as much as possible—preventing the stagger is the key to shutting down Jilly’s follow‑up burst.
Alternatively, if you can eliminate Magmarex first, you can stop Jilly from doing the combo for the remainder of the battle.

By default, Sherro's Flowing Water Slash needs to be used at melee range of the target to hit. However, it becomes a ranged attack when it's used near a water environment. Although the combat area has no water nearby, the conditional effect also works if there are water puddles nearby. With this in mind, you can use Piopiota's skills to scatter water puddles across the combat area, then keep using Flowing Water Slash to deal damage from a distance.
This tactic is highly effective against Scorchhowl and Magmarex, since they're melee and Fire aniimo, giving Sherro the range and elemental advantage.
Flowing Water Slash Stats and Effect
If you’re following the recommended team, Sherro will serve as your primary DPS, supported by Glacy and Piopiota. However, if Sherro’s HP drops critically low or it is eliminated, Lunara or Helion can step in as the team’s secondary DPS. While they only have the elemental advantage against Somniwing, they still deal full damage to Scorchhowl and Magmarex. In addition, Lunara provides decent Break damage, which is crucial for maintaining control in this battle.

You can find Jilly at Beast Fang Ridge, southwest of the Beast Fang Ridge Bloom. You need to defeat Jilly in the first battle to unlock her Elite Pathfinder challenge.
