Thunder only has two Aniimos during his initial challenge: Helgon and Thornblade. Use Fire Aniimos against Thornblade and Lightning or Light Aniimos against Helgon. Use Aniimos with high BREAK capabilities, such as Blazen, to immobilize them and prevent them from using their Counter Skills.

Thunder sends out Helgon as his first Aniimo, where it uses its Wind Counter ability throughout the fight. This ability deals massive BREAK damage if you hit Helgon from the front while it's active.
If you're in a BREAK state, Thunder sends out Thornblade to deal damage while you're immobilized. Be mindful of your attacks against both of them, since they both have counter abilities.
You can counter their Counter Skills by attacking them from behind, as these skills are only effective against attacks from the front. Back away after a few attacks, as they deal damage around themselves when the skill ends, which also deals BREAK damage.
If you see Helgon using Skyfall, immediately back away from your position to avoid taking massive damage. You can also tell that Helgon is about to use Skyfall when it is no longer visible on your screen.

Thunder is located at -0109, 1880 in Russet Highlands, standing near a few rock formations in the area.
