The opponent will most likely try and attack with either Mega Sharpedo ex or Chien-Pao ex. You can stall out with Pom-Pom Oricorio and get your board active if they manage to get the upper hand.

You will want to use fast Lightning-type Pokemon to counter the Mega Sharpedo ex deck. You want to have a faster deck tempo with Lightning-type Pokemon like Miraidon ex or Dedenne ex.

You want to prevent your opponent from setting up Mega Sharpedo ex too quickly, so do try to match their tempo with cards like Clemont and Zeraora so you don't get left behind.

Using Protective Poncho can negate Bench damage, which significantly limits Chien-Pao ex's effectiveness.

This Crimson Blaze Magnezone and Pom-Pom Oricorio deck has non-ex Magnezone to get around the opponent's boosted damage on ex Pokemon. Magneton can be used to set it up using its Volt Charge ability. Try to keep it safe on your Bench as much as possible until you can evolve it.
To wall Mega Sharpedo ex, you may use Pom-Pom Oricorio, since it is immune to all attacks from Pokemon ex. Take note that it can still be damaged by the opponent's other Pokemon.
