Best Lycanroc ex Decks

[★ Best ★]
Strengths:
• Lycanroc ex can deal a significant 130 damage with its Lycanfang Attack.
• Lycanroc ex benefits off Passimian ex's Ability which transfers Energy once it is KOd.
• Pokemon in the deck do not share a Weakness.
Weaknesses:
• Pokemon in the deck need multiple turns before they can attack.
Lycanroc ex and Rampardos Deck Icon Lycanroc ex and Rampardos Deck Strengths:
• Lycanroc ex can deal a significant 130 damage with its Lycanfang Attack.
• Rampardos's low-cost attack can OHKO most Pokemon and deal meaningful damage to Pokemon who can tank it.
• You will always start with Rockruff, and always get Lycanroc ex for next turn using Signs of Evolution.
Weaknesses:
• Pokemon in the deck share a Weakness to Grass.
• Lycanroc ex needs multiple turns to set up before it can attack.

Passimian ex is the deck's ideal start, which can deal a decent enough 60 damage for two Energy. We would want to commit Energy to Passimian ex if we start with it, and have it attack until it is eventually KOd, where it can use its Offload Pass Ability to transfer Energy to a benched Partner.

Lycanroc ex is an excellent recipient of Energy, who can deal 130 damage with Lycanfang.

The deck runs Mars, which is useful for when Passimian ex is KOd, and Red for when Lycanroc ex needs to hit the 150 HP benchmark.

Lycanroc ex Deck Strategy Guide

Set Up Lycanroc ex's Lycanfang

Lycanroc ex's Lycanfang deals a solid 130 damage, but comes at the cost of discarding an Energy. This isn't too disadvantageous, as you can commit your Energy attachments for the turn solely to Lycanroc ex. This will, however, hinder you from setting up your other Pokemon with Energy.

How to Beat Lycanroc ex Decks

Efficient Grass-type Pokemon

Most Grass decks are able to be effective with only a few Energy attachments, making them quicker to set up compared to Lycanroc ex.

Pokemon that can out-damage Lycanroc ex are a good matchup against it.

Energy Denial

Lycanroc ex has a steep Attack Cost, so you may prevent it from attacking by removing its Energy. Beedrill ex can remove one Energy per turn while attacking. You can also opt to use Team Rocket Grunt, as lucky flips can allow you to remove all of Lycanroc ex's Energy at once.

Guzzlord ex can also lock it out of attacking for the entire game.
