Mega Charizard Y ex is a powerful Mega Pokemon ex from Crimson Blaze that has the ability to OHKO every Pokemon in the game. It comes at the cost of recoil damage, however, so careful decision-making and analysis could prove vital when piloting this deck.

Entei ex helps you draw cards, allowing you to be more consistent in your setup, while being a decent enough attacker in the early game that is capable of knocking out 60 HP Pokemon.

This deck also runs copies of Charmeleon instead of Rare Candy, because of its Ignition Ability being able to accelerate Energy to your Active Pokemon. This makes the deck even more consistent.

Protective Poncho is added into this deck to protect your Benched Pokemon from Greninja snipes, and improve its matchup against Suicune ex and Greninja Decks.

During the Early Game, place Entei ex in the Active Spot while you set up Mega Charizard X ex in the Bench. This will allow you to use Entei ex's Ability to draw an extra card at the end of a turn, drawing the cards that you need in your deck quicker.

Once Mega Charizard X ex is up, switch it to the Active Spot and use it as your main attacker. Use Trainer cards to support and sustain Mega Charizard X ex, such as the Flame Patch to attach extra Fire Energy, and the Protective Poncho to protect Mega Charizard X ex whenever it is in the Bench.

Set down Entei ex in the Active Spot and use it as your early game attacker while you build your team in the Bench. If you use the Rainbow Cave stadium, you can discard a Fire Energy, then use Flame Patch to put the discarded energy on Entei ex. This puts Entei ex at 2 Energy in the same turn so you can attack right away.

Build Typhlosion ex in your bench. When needed, switch it to the Active Spot to discard the Energy of your opponent's Active Pokemon.

If you want more supporting damage, consider evolving Typhlosion and use its Ability to inflict Burn.

Entei ex Deck Strategy Guide

Draw Cards with Legendary Pulse

Entei ex is a mediocre primary attacker, but it boasts a powerful Ability in Legendary Pulse. Having Entei ex in the Active Spot and drawing cards is often a strong strategy that can help you set up a Pokemon on the Bench.

It is also a decent enough backup attacker if you need a Pokemon to hit for 60 damage, or even a surpsie 120 if you can set it up from 2 to 4 Energy using Flame Patch in a single turn.

How to Beat Entei ex Decks

Deal Super-effective Damage

Entei ex may struggle against Pokemon that can take it out quickly. Pokemon such as Suicune ex or Mega Sharpedo ex have no trouble 2HKOing Entei ex.

Use Copycat

Entei ex players would often have plenty of cards in their hand thanks to Legendary Pulse's draw power. Use this to your advantage to expedite your own board state's setup by using Copycat.
