Best Miraidon ex Decks

Miraidon ex Deck Variants Strengths and Weaknesses
Miraidon ex and CB Magnezone Icon Miraidon ex and CB Magnezone
[★ Best ★]
Strengths:
• Magneton can accelerate Energy, then pass all of its Energy onto Miraidon ex.
• Miraidon ex can keep increasing its damage output each turn and is difficult to stop once it gets going.
• Magnezone is a strong secondary attacker that can prevent the opponent from attacking.
Weaknesses:
• Since you'll want to keep Miraidon in your hand until you're ready to make it your Active Pokemon, you may struggle with opposing disruptive cards.
• Benched Pokemon may be left vulnerable without Energy if Miraidon ex is knocked out too quickly.

It's highly recommended to place Magnemite onto the Active Spot for the first turn, and wait until you have some Energy attached until your bring Miraidon ex into play. Otherwise, you won't be able to make use of its ability.

Evolve Magnemite into Magneton as soon as possible, so that you can use its ability to accelerate Energy. Use Clemont or Professor's Research to help you find the Magneton card quickly.

Once you're content with the amount of Energy on your side of the field, bring in Miraidon ex. You can then use this to sweep. If it feels threatened or if you're facing against a Pom-Pom Oricorio, you may use Magnezone instead. However, it is recommended to only evolve one Magneton into Magnezone, so that you may still obtain Energy from the second Magneton.

You can use Professor Turo to recall Miraidon ex into your deck once its HP becomes too low. You can then use a Poke Ball to get Miraidon ex back into your deck. It is recommended to use your Poke Ball cards for this purpose, and use the Lisia card if you want to summon Magnemite.

Miraidon ex Deck Strategy Guide

Gather Energy Before Putting Miraidon ex in Play

Miraidon ex is best used in decks that can accelerate Lightning Energy quickly such as ones that use Magneton or Zeraora. Miraidon ex gets stronger the more Lightning Energy it has attached, and it obtains all Energy on your side of the field once you put it in play.

This makes Miraidon ex a formidable late-game sweeper, but it's also a threatening early-game attacker if you can get 3 Energy by turn 2.

Energy Acceleration and Transfer Cards List

Protect Miraidon ex With Professor Turo

If Miraidon ex is under threat of being knocked out, you can use Professor Turo to put it back into your deck and keep it safe. This will, unfortunately, make it lose all the Energy it's obtained, but it will prevent your opponent from gaining points and allow you to be able to play the card again once it makes its way to your hand.

How to Beat Miraidon ex Decks

Use Fast Fighting-Type Decks

Miraidon ex benefits from longer games, so it's best to end it as quickly as possible. Prioritize knocking out the Energy-obtaining Pokemon in the Miraidon ex deck first to prevent Miraidon's damage output from reaching threatening levels.

You may also try to knock out Miraidon ex as early as possible. Miraidon ex isn't too bulky and can be knocked out with two decently strong attacks or one powerful Fighting-type card. Just make sure you can survive an attack or have a secondary attacker on your Bench that's ready to deal the finishing blow.

Best Fighting Type Deck and Cards Tier List

Remove Opponent's Energy

You can reduce the damage output of Miraidon ex by reducing the number of Energy attached to it. Use cards such as Team Rocket Grunt or Corviknight ex to remove Energy from the Pokemon in the opponent's Active Spot.

You may also use cards such as Alolan Ninetales ex to prevent your opponent from adding Energy to Miraidon ex if it's in the Active Spot.

Shuffle Opponent's Hand Into Deck

Since Miraidon ex will often remain in the player's hand until they're content with the amount of Energy on their side of the field, you can disrupt their strategy, and use cards that shuffle the opponent's hand if you feel like they have their Miraidon ex.

These disruptive cards, such as the Red Card, Mars, or Iono, are best used once the opponent has played their Poke Ball cards but still has not brought out Miraidon ex.

Try with Raikou + cyrus. Raikou gather 1 card, makes it easier to trigger Cyrus and faster get Miraidon. It's insane! 🫪👈

In what universe is this deck S-tier? I just lost 20 matches in a row with it and only one of them even got Miraidon going. Like yeah, it can potentially one shot anything, but good luck getting it set up to do that and if you do get it going you better hope it gets the win because it won't survive to get another hit in. Your criteria for S-tier needs a serious look at.
