Spoils are loot that can be appraised by Jiera into weapons and armor in the Dark Arisen DLC for Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). This guide explains what Spoils are, where to find them, and how to unlock Spoils Appraisal.

Spoils or Relics are abandoned supplies that can be obtained from defeating enemies and looting relic piles in the Norgan region. These can then be appraised by Jiera in the Norgandian Settlement to be converted into powerful weapons and armor or Rift Crystals. After appraising the Spoils, you can choose to keep the equipment or sell them for Gold.
Equipment from Spoils can have up to four special skill enhancements, depending on the rarity of the Spoils you obtained. However, they cannot be upgraded by Blacksmiths in the base game's map.

There are six levels or rarities of Spoils: from Level 1 being the lowest to Ultimate (Level 6) being the highest rarity of Spoils. Equipment from Level 1 and 2 Spoils will have basic stats and one special skill enhancement, while starting from Level 3 Spoils it will have higher stats and more special skill enhancements.
We recommend to always equip gear from higher rarity Spoils as you progress through the Norgan region to better manage the threats in late game areas.

To unlock Spoils Appraisal, you must first complete Relics of the Past, one of the first side quests available upon arriving in Norgan. Jiera will ask you to find relics and have them appraised, essentially serving as a tutorial on how Spoils Appraisal works.
Once you complete Relics of the Past, talk to Jiera and select Appraisal to have her appraise any Spoils you obtain. Each appraisal requires Rift Crystals, though you can also exchange Spoils for Rift Crystals if you're running low.

You can obtain Spoils by looting defeated enemies. Beorcans, in particular, often carry Spoils. Tougher enemies tend to drop higher-rarity Spoils, especially in late-game areas.
Defeating the final boss, the Fallen Dragon, rewards you with Level 5 Spoils. You can then farm Level 5 Spoils by defeating Empowered bosses in Rancors, which are post-game combat areas where you survive waves of enemies in exchange for rare rewards.
To obtain Ultimate Spoils, defeat Satanachia in the post-game quest Into Rancor. This is currently the only known way to obtain Ultimate Spoils.

Spoils can also be obtained from gathering relic piles. These are similar to the supply piles found on the base game's map, but they also yield Spoils. Relic piles can be found throughout the Norgan region and are generally easy to spot. Pawns can loot them if they're nearby.

Freki is an allied wolf you can recruit in Norgan who can sniff out relic piles for you to loot when fed a Scrag of Beast. To unlock her, complete the In for a Hare, in for a Hound quest in the Norgandian Settlement.
