List of Contents
Complete all riddles before attempting to defeat the Sphinx, as attacking early will permanently lock you out of all remaining riddle rewards.
Once every riddle is solved, defeat the Sphinx to claim 10,000 G and the Key of Sagacity. Use this key to open the largest treasure chest behind the boss and retrieve the Eternal Wakestone.
Defeating the Sphinx is optional, but completing the encounter in this exact order is highly recommended to ensure you secure every reward available.
Sphinx Riddle Solutions and Location

The Eternal Wakestone is a one-time use item and is used to revive all the NPCs in the vicinity that the effects of the Dragonsplague may have caused.
| Method | Difficulty |
|---|---|
| Use an Unmaking Arrow | ★★ |
| Attacking the Lion and Bird Parts | ★★★★★ |
Shoot an Unmaking Arrow on the Sphinx's wings to defeat it instantly. This is not required, but guarantees a quick victory.
Note: You will need to change to an Archer Vocation prior to the encounter as you will need to fire the Unmaking Arrow with a bow.
An Unmaking Arrow can be obtained as a reward for one of the Sphinx's riddles, the Riddle of Recollection, which involves bringing several statues to the Sphinx equal to the total of riddles you have completed.
The Sphinx can be defeated by attacking the lion and bird parts while avoiding its human face and chest. It is recommended to fight solo or with a healer pawn, as other pawns may accidentally hit the wrong areas.
The Sphinx has four health bars and uses AoE attacks, including Fire Stomp, Lightning Stomp, and Sphinx Bolt.
Clues for where to strike can be found on the murals and vase from the Riddle of Futility. Once all health bars are depleted, it drops 5 pouches of 2,000 G each and the Key of Sagacity, which unlocks the chest behind it containing the Eternal Wakestone.
Attempting this method to defeat the Sphinx is not recommended. Because the boss moves constantly throughout the fight, consistently isolating hits on its animal body parts is nearly impossible in practice, whether fighting solo or with Pawns. Focus instead on creating safe openings to land clean attacks and complete the encounter reliably.

Thank you for your amazing guides! Please update this information, there's no need to use the unmaking arrow. Fight with whatever vocation you like, just don't mess with her face. You must go alone or with a healer pawn (without any attack spells).
