Help Eir Fight the Fallen Dragon You and Eir fight the Fallen Dragon until it flees. Eir will be upset that you didn't run to Rovall's soul instead.
Reach for Rovall's Soul Run straight toward Rovall's soul, and Eir will catch up with you by the gate.

At the end of the Soul Searching quest, the Fallen Dragon arrives to stop you from reaching Rovall's soul. You will have to decide whether to help Eir fight the dragon or run toward Rovall's soul.

This choice does not affect the game's ending and only changes your interactions with Eir later.

Don't Help Eir and Run Towards Rovall's Soul to Save Time

Run Toward Rovall

You should avoid helping Eir fight the Fallen Dragon and head straight for Rovall's soul to save time. Fighting the dragon is pointless, as it will flee after losing 2-3 HP bars, and you won't receive any XP for it. While this choice doesn't affect the story, Eir will also be upset that you chose to help her instead of focusing on the mission.

Additionally, Eir will naturally catch up with you at the gate if you choose to reach for Rovall's soul, making the choice to help her purely a role-playing decision.
