Reaching the Far Shore is a quest added in the Dark Arisen DLC of Dragon’s Dogma 2 (DD2). This guide will show you a walkthrough of Reaching the Far Shore, its quest location, and rewards!

Talk to Ryatt

Talk to Ryatt

Head to the Sealed Study in the North Valgrian Frostgrove and talk to Ryatt about traversing Lake Norgan.

Return to Jiera in the Norgandian Settlement, and she'll tell you the location of Fimbl the Ice Dragon.

Weaken the Fimbl

# Walkthrough

Fimble Frozen River Location
The Fimbl's first location is northeast of the Mountain Stronghold. You can fast travel to the Northwall Campground Portcrystal, then head east until you see the dragon resting on a frozen river next to the stronghold's walls.

Weaken Fimbl Frozen River
Weaken the Fimbl by removing around 2 HP bars. The dragon will then fly away.

Fimbl Open Grounds Location
Follow the Fimbl to the Mountain Stronghold. You will find the dragon this time in the open grounds in the western part of the stronghold.

Weaken Fimbl Open Grounds
Continue weakening the Fimbl. There are explosive barrels around the arena that should help you in combat.

After removing around 2 HP bars from the Fimbl again, the dragon will now fly to Lake Norgan.

Head to Lake Norgan

# Walkthrough

Cilmb Up Cliff
Fast travel back to the Norgandian Settlement and make your way to the western side of Lake Norgan.

To get there fast, head to the broken bridge just northwest of the village and attach a Climbing Hook to the tether post on the cliff above.

Deserted Lakeside Estate
Climb up the cliff, then head northwest to Ettam Forest. Continue west through the forest, then turn south until you reach the Deserted Lakeside Estate.

Defeat the Fimbl Using Ballistas

Shoot Fimbl Using Ballistas

Use the ballistas in the ruined estate to shoot the Fimbl in the middle of the lake. Be careful, as the dragon can shoot ice back at you. Make sure to take cover and stay away from the ballistas when it attacks, as they can break after 3-4 waves of ice attacks.

Note that there are only a limited number of ballistas around you, and directly attacking the Fimbl from this area is nearly impossible once they are all destroyed. With that, we recommend saving your game before engaging the Fimbl so you can reload back if all the ballistas are destroyed.

Wait for the Lake to Change

Once the Fimbl has been defeated, return to Jiera and wait a day for Lake Norgan to change.

Cross the Lake

Cross the Lake

After a day has passed, return to the Deserted Lakeside Estate and you'll see that parts of the lake have frozen. Cross the lake to the other side and enter the tunnel to Lakeside Grotto.

You can also loot the Fimbl's corpse along the way to obtain a Winty Dragon Scale, along with rare spoils.

Retrieve the Treatise

Retrieve Treatiste

Proceed into the grotto and destroy the boulder in the middle. Continue forward, then climb up on the left to enter a room with documents. Open the chest to obtain the Tailour-Crafte Treatise.

Take the path opposite the room where you found the treatise to exit Lakeside Grotto.

Bring the Treatise to Jiera

Deliver Treatise to Hal

Return to Jiera and show her the Tailour-Crafte Treatise. Afterward, deliver the treatise to Hal, who is right across from her. This will complete the quest!

Progress Soul Searching Quest

Talk to Polyeidus

To unlock Reaching the Far Shore, you must at least start the Soul Searching story quest. Progress until you speak to Polyeidus at the Sealed Study, then Jiera should approach you about finding the treatise when you return to the Norgandian Settlement.

Tailor Equipment

Completing Reaching the Far Shore unlocks Tailor Equipment or transmog via Hal. This allows you to change the appearance of your character's and Main Pawn's appraised relics to match any piece of equipment you have previously obtained.
