In for a Hare, in for a Hound is a quest added in the Dark Arisen DLC of Dragon’s Dogma 2 (DD2). This guide will show you a walkthrough of In for a Hare, in for a Hound, its quest location, rewards, and how to unlock Freki!

Talk to Ilsa

Ilsa Location

To start the quest, head toward the northern exit of the Norgandian Settlement, where Ilsa will approach you.

Note that Ilsa will only appear after you've ventured out of the village, so try completing other quests around Norgan first and let a day or two pass.

All Dark Arisen DLC Quests

Obtain Some Alpine Hare Meat

Alpine Hare Meat Locations

Ilsa will ask you to look for some Alpine Hare Meat. Three hare locations will be marked on the map, but the northern one should be the closest to Ilsa.

Head to one of the locations, kill a hare, and loot its corpse to obtain Alpine Hare Meat. Afterward, deliver the meat to Ilsa and she will feed it to her dire wolf, Freki.

Follow Freki

Coastal Cliff Chest

You must then follow Freki. This also serves as a tutorial for her scouting abilities, as she can sniff out relic piles for you to loot.

Freki will take you to multiple locations, eventually leading you to a chest on a coastal cliff west of the village.

Tell Ilsa of Freki's Discovery

Once you've looted the chest, return to Ilsa to complete the quest. From this point on, you can also use Freki to sniff out spoils.

After a while, Ilsa will approach you again for the A Direwolf Delicacy quest.

Unlock Freki to Find Relics

Freki

Completing In for a Hare, in for a Hound unlocks Freki, a dire wolf that can sniff out spoils for you if you feed her. Ilsa gives you 3 Scrags of Beast to test out Freki.

Simply interact with Freki and feed her meat so she can start looking for spoils.
