The Lost Rites dungeons reward you with equipment better than end-game weapons which will definitely help you tackle the new region.
To start, you have to talk to Brant at The Stardrop Inn in Vernworth. Simply talk to him regarding the Lost Rites, and the dungeons should immediately be available to hunt down.
From there, you will be redirected to the Darkhorde Cave to find the first Lost Rites dungeon, Devilkin Hollow.
All Lost Rites Gear and Rewards

Completing the new dungeons will give you Offering Flames, which you can use at the Obelisks of Benediction scattered throughout Norgan.
Offering these flames will grant significant upgrades to your Arisen, which you will need when travelling through Norgan. That is why we recommend tackling some Lost Rites dungeons before heading to the new region.
Best Lost Rites Build and Party Comp

Once the Lost Rites start to get harder, you can acquire better upgrades in Norgan. By collecting and appraising relics known as Spoils, you can be better equipped with higher-tier gear. Alternating between the two whenever one gets hard is ideal.
This new equipment system, however, has randomized stats and Skills, meaning your loot is dependent on RNG. Despite that, they still possess higher stats than any of the base-game weapons.
Best Weapons for Dark Arisen DLC

To optimize between Norgan and Lost Rites, a good stopping point for the dungeons is after tackling some Vermund-based Lost Rites. Battahl's Lost RItes, however, poses a significant difficulty spike.
We recommend you spend some time appraising relics in Norgan at this point so you can get stronger gear to take on the Batthal Lost Rite dungeons.

Some of the Lost Rites dungeons require certain conditions to be met. A couple of the early Vermund dungeons require you to have the Empowered Godsbane Blade from A New Godsway quest in Battahl for you to enter the last room of the dungeon.
Should You Start Over Before Dark Arisen?

Though it may be a daunting task to explore, you can still approach the new region, as completing the Lost Rites is not a hard requirement.
It does, however, equip you with better-scaled gear. Hence why we suggest trying to tackle the Lost Rites dungeons before scaling through the new region.
