Amos

The Truant Soldier is a quest added in the Dark Arisen DLC of Dragon’s Dogma 2 (DD2). This guide will show you a walkthrough of The Truant Soldier, including its quest location and rewards!

Talk to Chrona in Mountain Stronghold

Chrona Location

Once you’ve finished Rumbles in the North, head into the Mountain Stronghold hall where the Commission soldiers are clearing rubble.

Chrona stands near Wash, and the quest is added automatically as soon as she finishes speaking. She explains that Amos left his post during the cleanup and hasn’t come back.

Look for Amos

Look for Amos

Take the elevator located east of the stronghold, down into the Norgan Snowfield and head northeast. Whiteouts are common in this area so pack some Heatstones, and expect enemies along the way.

Keep going until you hear Amos calling for help. You can find him on a ledge across the ravine, next to an iron brazier and a tether post. You can reach him by climbing the climbing rope attached to the tether.

Rescue Amos

Talking to Amos
Amos is surrounded by enemies when you arrive. Once the last enemy falls, talk to him to complete the rescue. If you've already progressed up to Soul Searching the quest concludes here.

If you haven't, go to Northwall Campground cave, where he stands by the crates and chest. Speak to him, and he will give you a map of the Derelict Passage which is useful during the Soul Searching quest, and the quest concludes.
