Best Dark Arisen DLC Armor

Acquire Armor from Level 5 Spoils

Level 5 Spoils

Armor appraised from Level 5 Spoils is currently the best-in-slot armor in the Dark Arisen DLC. These are Ancient or second-highest rarity of Norgandian equipment, thanks to their high stats and special skills. You can get Level 5 Spoils by defeating post-game bosses in Norgan, including Satanachia (and its Empowered version), Empowered Fallen Dragon, and Death.

Complete the Relics of the Past DLC quest first to unlock spoil appraisal by Jiera at the Norgandian Settlement. This will allow you to convert raw drops gathered from chests and defeated enemies into powerful gear using your gathered Spoils.

Ultimate Spoils Are Better But Much Rarer

Ultimate Spoils Overview

While higher-rarity Spoils exist in the form of Ultimate Spoils, they are much harder and scarcer to obtain. Still, Ultimate Spoils convert into Supernal Armor and we recommend equipping them if you manage to find any. Level 5 Spoils are simply more accessible and can even be farmed.

Prioritize Armor with Better Stats During Story Quests

Armor with High Stats

Since Level 5 Spoils and Ultimate Spoils are only accessible in the post-game, it's best to prioritize armor with better stats as you work your way through the DLC's story quests. The enemies and bosses you encounter in these quests don't really require specific armor builds to defeat, so just equip whichever armor has better stats

If you appraise Spoils and the armor's stats are similar, choose the one with special skills that work better for your playstyle and vocation.

Craft Armor at the Blacksmith

Hal Blacksmith Workshop and Weapon Crafting

You can also craft armor via Hal in the Norgandian Settlement. Complete the Hammer and Tongs DLC quest to unlock gear access, giving you full access to the forge and allowing you to upgrade high-level equipment. We recommend taking a look at this option if you don't currently have better gear from appraised Spoils.

How to Farm the Best Dark Arisen Armor

Clear Virulent Rancors and Devouring Rancors

Empowered Satanachia Locations

To get Level 5 Spoils, clear Virulent Rancors and Devouring Rancors and defeat the Empowered bosses there. These are harder versions of Rancor's Vortexes marked as red cyclone icons on the map that unlock after completing the post-game quest Into Rancor. Level 5 Spoils can be obtained by defeating Empowered bosses such as Empowered Satanachia and Empowered Fallen Dragon, as well as Death. You can also get Level 5 Spoils by defeating Satanachia for the first time in Into Rancor.

Currently, the only known way to obtain Ultimate Spoils is by defeating Empowered Satanachia.

Defeat Enemies

The best way to farm Spoils and Relics is by defeating enemies. These enemies appear in groups, drop Spoils, and grant substantial XP when defeated. Beorcans specifically drop Spoils and Relics more often than other enemy types. You can use the Eye of the Sphinx to look for Enemy Forces (orange icons) around the map.

Some enemies also have a chance to drop Ancient Spoils, which yield Superior gear.

Unlock Freki to Find Relic Piles

Freki

Freki is an allied wolf you can recruit in Norgan who can sniff out Relic Piles for you to loot when fed a Scrag of Beast. To unlock her, complete the In for a Hare, in for a Hound quest in the Norgandian Settlement.
