The Castle in the Ice Walkthrough

The Gagana takes extra damage from ice and resists fire, so build your party around ice. Bring ice enchantments, ice-based skills, and ice magick.
Fire-based attacks will do little here, and Tar won’t work because the Gagana is immune to it.

Both of the Gagana’s main attacks are preceded by the fire sac in its chest swelling up and glowing. That swelling sac is its weak point, and hitting it while its swollen deals extra knockout damage.

The Gagana breathes fire often and hits hard, so stock up on curatives beforehand, especially anything that negates fire damage. Tanking its full breath of fire can 1-shot you even with decent gear.

The Gagana is found in Gagana’s Grotto, southeast of the Norgan Snowfield. You first fight it during The Castle in the Ice quest, where Eir has you summon it to get the Firebird Tallow.
Once the quest is complete, you can return to Gagana’s Grotto and perform the summoning ritual again to re-summon the Gagana.
