The frigid and dark season has ended. The hibernating critters stir and call to each other... They are legion, and they are waking.

Critters That Dig Stage 1 Mechanics

Normal • Careful. The Mist continuously deals gradually increasing DMG to all operators.
• The Woodcraft Slug will burrow underground and restore all its shield stacks on a regular basis. Defeating a Woodcraft Slug will temporarily reduce Mist DMG.
• After the battle begins, 1 random Woodcraft Slug will lose all its shield stacks and no longer restore them. Defeating it will cause 1 random Woodcraft Slug to lose all its shield stacks and no longer restore them.
• Enemies have the same resistance against every element.
Agony • Careful. The Mist continuously deals gradually increasing DMG to all operators. Mist DMG is also greatly increased.
• Tacticals and consumables cannot be used.

Agony Mode adds an effect on top of the Normal Mode mechanics.

Cryo team is good at this stage as Si can just use her battle skill and pull the Inksoul, removing the need to chase after the slug without the shield. Tangtang's ultimate also has good value here since she can stop the slugs from moving, allowing you to defeat them with ease.

Yvonne Soldification Team

For this team, Yvonne can freeze your target as long as you can save enough SP for when it comes out of its hole. With Arcane's pull, Tangtang and Yvonne's AoE, you'll also be able to destroy other slugs' shields and defeat them easily if they happen to be near the slug without the shield.

With Typhoeus's battle skill, she can easily destroy the slug's shield, allowing you to burst them down and hit all the other slugs in the arena. She can also catch up to the next slug due to her nature as a ranged character.

How to Beat Critters That Dig Stage 1

  1. Shieldless Slug Always Spawns at the Same Spot
  2. Use Multiple AoEs to Destroy Shield

Shieldless Slug Always Spawns at the Same Spot

The first slug without a shield will always spawn at the right side of the stage from when you just spawn in. This way, you'll be able to prepare for it and kill it immediately as it spawns.

Use Multiple AoEs to Destroy Shield

Sometimes, chasing after the defenseless slug may not be worth it. Instead, wait until you have enough SP to just destroy slugs that are in proximity to each other.

If you manage to destroy their shield with your AoE attacks, you'll be able to destroy multiple of them before the defenseless slugs reposition and pop out from the ground again.
