Process Cold Start is the very first Mission of Arknights: Endfield, serving as both the Prologue of the main story and a tutorial for some of the core mechanics of the game.

Process Cold Start Walkthrough

  1. Choose the Endministrator
  2. Go Forth and Use the Zipline
  3. Defeat the Enemies
  4. Keep Advancing
  5. Go to the Tower
  6. Walk Through the Sea of Flowers
  7. Vanquish the Enemies
  8. Enter the Past
  9. Defeat Ereignis
  10. Go Forth and Awaken Life
  11. Name the Endministrator

Choose the Endministrator

Arknights Endfield - Process Cold Start - Choose Your Endministrator

Before the Prologue begins, players will have to choose whether to use the Male or Female Endministrator. Other than the voice actor, there is no significant change in story or gameplay between the two.

Moreover, at a later part of the game, players can swap the Endministrator's gender with a 24-hour cooldown in the OMV Dijiang.

How to Change Genders

Go Forth and Use the Zipline

Once the mission begins, simply follow the path forward guided by Perlica's apparition until you reach a Zipline. Make use of it to cross the chasm and continue onward.

Defeat the Enemies

Once on the other side of the chasm, you will encounter your first Aggeloi enemy in the game. Defeat all enemies here; this serves as a tutorial section for some combat mechanics, such as Basic Attacks, Dodges and Perfect Dodges.

Keep Advancing

Continue onward after defeating the Aggeloi until you reach another Zipline. Take the ride to cross the chasm once more.

Go to the Tower

Arknights Endfield - Process Cold Start - Go to the Tower

Make your way towards the tower, battling more Aggeloi along the way as a tutorial for Battle Skills, Skill Points, and Ultimates. Once there, simply head inside.

Walk Through the Sea of Flowers

Go inside and follow Perlica's apparition within the Sea of Flowers. Once ready to continue, simply exit the tower by going forward.

Vanquish the Enemies

Arknights Endfield - Process Cold Start - Vanquish the Enemies

After exiting the tower, take the Zipline down to go straight into battle with more Aggeloi. The Endministrator will be supported on the battlefield with giant cannons providing covering fire.

Enter the Past

Arknights Endfield - Process Cold Start - Enter the Past

After defeating the wave of Aggeloi, head towards the chasm. A statue will lower its weapon to guide you to the next area, which is a graveyard of those who have passed.

In the graveyard, interact with three different headstones, including one that contains very familiar names. Afterwards, continue onward and follow Perlica's apparition.

Defeat Ereignis

When you reach the end point, you will be put into a boss fight against Ereignis. In this fight, you will be given trial versions of Perlica, Laevatain, and Gilberta.

Follow the instructions to progress in the boss fight!

Go Forth and Awaken Life

Arknights Endfield - Process Cold Start - Go Forth and Awaken Life

After Ereignis launches a powerful attack at the end of the boss fight, the Endministrator finds himself in a white void, with a structure that looks like a Relay Tower on the horizon.

Get close to it and pick up the Strange Object. Afterwards, activate the structure by giving it the “Starting Point”.

Name the Endministrator

Just before being woken up, the Endministrator is required to give their name. This is the players' chance to name their main character within 7 Asian or 15 alphanumeric numbers!

You can change your name later, after you have unlocked the Acquisition Center and Valuables stash.

Due to this mission being part of the Prologue, there are no rewards given out for the player after completing this Main Mission.
