Wulfgard is a Heat Caster Operator, able to apply 2 stacks of Heat Infliction for the team or consume Combustion or Electrification to cast his enhanced Battle Skill.
While Wulfgard has flexible teams when played as a DPS, his damage is lower, on top of being limited to single-target scenarios. However, as an Infliction support, he can set up 2 stacks that can be used to set up stronger Arts Reactions.

As a Combustion DPS, Wulfgard uses the Hot Work set with the Rational Farewell weapon. The weapon provides a sizeable attack buff that can be easily triggered by his Combo Skill, while the Hot Work set provides high Heat DMG and Arts Intensity bonuses to maximize the damage over time of his Combustion procs.

Wulfgard uses the OBJ Velicitous weapon with the Qingbo Set as a pure Heat Infliction support. The cooldown reduction on the Qingbo set allows Wulfgard to provide more Heat Inflictions for Laevatain's Melting Flame stacks, while the weapon further increases his Ultimate Gain for more Combustion procs that can trigger Laevatain's Combo Skill for additional stacks.

In the early game, Wulfgard uses the same Rational Farewell weapon with the Armored MSGR Set for its bonuses to Strength and Attack. This prioritizes his DPS due to the lack of Combo Skill cooldown reduction in early-game gears for his Infliction Support role.

Wulfgard's best weapon as a Combustion DPS is the Rational Farewell for its Pursuit skill that provides a high ATK increase for Wulfgard. This weapon scales especially well with Potentials to increase its ATK buff as well, which is fairly accessible via Arsenal Exchange as a 5-star weapon.
Clannibal can be a decent alternative, but will require Wulfgard to consume his own Combustion to maximize its damage potential. This will require a bit more micromanagement than Rational Farewell, as you will need to let his Combustion tick to utilize the Arts Intensity in his build, then consume it before it expires to activate its debuff.
Otherwise, Wedge can be used as a general stat-stick weapon for damage, with Long Road available as a 4-star option until higher-rarity weapons become available.

As a Heat Infliction Support, Wulfgard's best weapon is the OBJ Velocitous for its high increase in Ultimate Gain. This allows Wulfgard to cast his Ultimate more often, applying Combustion to trigger Laevatain's Combo Skill for an additional stack of Melting Flame.
Otherwise, Rational Farewell can be used for its damage if stacking Melting Flame or charging his Ultimate isn't an issue in fights.

Wulfgard's best gear as a Combustion DPS is the Hot Work set. This set capitalizes on maximizing Wulfgard's Combustion DoT, boosted by the Heat DMG Bonus on the set effect and the Strength, Agility, and Arts Intensity stats on the pieces.
Bonekrusha Wristband is used as the off-piece for its matching attributes and an increase to his Heat DMG that affects both his skills and Combustion procs.

|
|
Wulfgard uses the Qingbo set as a Heat Infliction support. Its set effect reduces his Combo Skill's Cooldown to apply more Heat Inflictions for the team, while boosting some of his damage with the Kit and Gloves.
Redeemer Seal is used as the off-piece for its high boost in Ultimate Gain, allowing Wulfgard to access his Ultimate more often for more Combustion procs that can trigger Laevatain's Combo Skill for an extra Melting Flame stack.

The Armored MSGR is Wulfgard's best early game gear set for its increases to Attack and his main attribute, Strength. Despite its defensive set effect, this build can still improve Wulfgard's damage in the earlier stages of the game due to its Strength bonuses.
As the controlled Operator, Wulfgard aims to trigger his Battle Skill only when an enemy is inflicted with either Combustion or Electrification.
You get the most damage by using his talents in this order:
Triggering Combustion with Wulfgard activates his Scorching Fangs talent, boosting his Heat DMG Dealt for 10s.
Ensure that the Arts Infliction is a non-Heat Infliction before triggering the Combo Skill to apply Combustion and trigger Wulfgard's talent.
Casting Wulfgard's Battle Skill on an enemy with an active Combustion triggers its additional hit.
The additional hit is Wulfgard's primary source of damage, boasting the highest damage multiplier in his kit apart from the Finisher.
As a teammate, Wulfgard shines in applying 2 stacks of Heat Infliction for Laevatain's Melting Flame stacks.
You get the most Melting Flame stacks by using his skills in this order:
Wulfgard can support the team by applying 2 stacks of Heat Infliction to set up Arts Reactions. Laevatain can reap the 2 stacks of Heat Infliction to gain Melting Flame stacks for her enhanced Battle Skill and charge her Ultimate.
Wulfgard can apply Combustion with his Ultimate, which can trigger Laevatain's Combo Skill for an additional stack of Melting Flame.

Wulfgard is a Stealth and Reconnaissance Specialist under Endfield Industries and is working in its Specialist Tech Division. His grit, maturity, and experience as a mercenary during his younger days gives him an edge in enemy infiltration and spy-work.
His mercenary work has exposed him to evils of humanity, resulting in his ability to trust the people around him to suffer. However, if you do manage to gain his trust, he is a reliable friend and glimpses of his days as a member of the Pack can slip through.

Hot Work is not a good set for Wulfgard althought it has the right stats Str/Agi. It grants Arts Intensity which increase Combustion Damage which is consumed by Wulfgard Battle Skill. Also Forcibly applying Combustion doesn't deal the initial hit. That's a huge loss of dps, just use MI Security Gear (Battle Skill dmg stat) instead or Bonekrusha only if you have max Potential Wulfgard and can reset he's Combo Skill with ult for max burst Battle Skill.
