The Story Continues Walkthrough

  1. Talk to Tangtang and Chen Qianyu
  2. Go to Deeplung Gorge
  3. Check the Book's Illustrations
  4. Use the Floating Rocks to Reach Deeplung Gorge
  5. Go to the Floating Island Where the Two Are
  6. Take Down the Pass that Si Has Placed

Talk to Tangtang and Chen Qianyu

Talk to Tangtang and Chen Qianyu
To start the quest, find and talk to Tangtang and Chen Qianyu at the Inn. They will tell you about Deeplung Gorge, a location in a popular book that they want to visit with the Endministrator.

Go to Deeplung Gorge

Go to Deeplung Gorge

After accepting Chen's offer to tag along, you will be prompted to go to Deeplung Gorge. Use the nearest Tele-Protocol Point (TP Point), then follow the marker to the designated location.

The entrance to the Gorge will be blocked by a large rock, similar to one that the book's main character shatters.

Check the Book's Illustrations

Touch the Scroll Illustration
Touch the scroll to align the book's illustration to the blocked path.

Adjust the portrait until it matches with the landscape. The game will automatically take over if you are close to the answer.

Chen Qianyu will show you the book, where you can check its illustrations and match it to the existing landscape.

Use the Floating Rocks to Reach Deeplung Gorge

Once the rock has been cleared, enter the passage to access Inkrise Peak. From there, you can use the floating rocks to reach Deeplung Gorge.

You will run into a root in the path, which you can remove by selecting Re-Imagine when in Paint mode.

Go to the Floating Island Where the Two Are

Unfurl the scroll and paint in all of the broken tree trunks.

Unlock the Bridge for the Floating Islands
Use them as bridges to the higher platform, where you can unlock a rope. Drop down, then select Re-Imagine and paint in the tree connecting the island and the higher platform.

Head up the platform using the rope and cross to the floating island where the pair are located.

You will see two people who have arrived in the Gorge before you, so you will be prompted to go to the floating island where the two are.

Connect broken tree trunks together to reach the pair, who you will learn have been sent to the location due to their insistence.

Take Down the Pass that Si Has Placed

Break the optical fog that is blocking the other end of the tree.

Connect all the broken tree parts for you to cross.

With the knowledge that Si is the author of the popular book, you will need to take down the pass that she has placed in order to access the unfinished ending's location.

Go to the Place Xie Buchu Mentioned

After creating paths, go to the place Xie Buchu mentioned by following the marker to the designated location. The group will find a bamboo grove and an empty house within the area.

Find Chen Qianyu and Tangtang and Take Photos for Inspiration

Photography targets are Chen Qianyu and the bamboo grove.
Take Photo of Tangtang for Inspiration
Photography targets are Tangtang and the house.

Chen Qianyu and Tangtang will then pose in each of the key areas. Find them and take photos of them in the venue for inspiration.

Chen can be found by the bamboo grove, while Tangtang can be found on the roof of the house.

Explore Deeper

Explore Deeper
After snapping pictures, Xie Buchu and Hao Tongku will find a hidden cave for the group to explore deeper.

You will need to cross through floating rocks and bridges to reach the marked location.

Defeat the Ink Spirits

You will then need to defeat three Ink Spirits to trigger the next cutscene. In this scene, Tangtang and Chen Qianyu will each be a main character, while the Endmin will be their consort.

Players will be given an option to choose between Tangtang or Chen Qianyu, with the unchosen one reacting in a very shocked manner.

Return to the Inn

Return to the Inn
After snapping pictures of poses and reactions, the group will return to the inn to discuss their own ending. They resolve to take more pictures of different scenes for reference.

Brainstorm the Ending

With the references in hand, the group will now brainstorm the ending. You can choose any of the preferred options, which will flash different scenes on your screen. No matter your choice, the group will unanimously agree with your chosen ending.

Talk to Everyone

Talk to Everyone
Interact with Xie Buchu and Hao Tongku to talk to everyone. The group has finally finished up on the ending, only to be caught by Si. Endmin convinces her to read the ending that the group came up with. She signs it off and leaves the group to celebrate. The quest will be completed as soon as the cutscene ends!

Deeplung Gorge in Inkrise Peak
Progressing through the quest also gives you access to Inkrise Peak in Si's Painting, which can only be unlocked after completing the Check the Book's Illustrations objective.
