Cold, Frigid, and Subzero Zones are areas of varying coldness that can be encountered in while traversing Snezhnaya in Genshin Impact. See more details about Cold Zones, Frigid Zones, and Subzero Zones here!

A Cold Zone is the most basic of the three temperature variants that players can encounter in Snezhnaya. When in a Cold Zone, the player's Kresnik Energy will slowly deplete over time.
To restore Kresnik Energy in Cold Zones, make use of various items like Kresnik Torches and Kresnik Kristall found in the overworld.
Kresnik Energy Sources and Uses Guide

A Frigid Zone is the next level of cold temperature area, and will cause Kresnik Energy to deplete at a faster rate. It becomes more important to pay attention to your Kresnik Energy gauge when exploring these zones, and replenish your Kresnik Energy as needed.

A Subzero Zone is the coldest zone players can find. Under normal circumstances, entering a Subzero zone will cause an immediate drop in Kresnik Energy, bringing it straight to zero.
Once Kresnik Energy hits zero, you will begin to take damage from Sheer Cold. It is recommended to evacuate Subzero Zones immediately while exploring to avoid losing your team to the damage.

The Snezhnaya Adventure Journal will display the current area's temperature. To find it, look for the book icon to the left of the minimap, or press the U Key on PC to open the journal.
No diamonds under the Journal means you are in a temperate area, while one, two, or three diamonds indicate a Cold, Frigid, or Subzero Zone respectively.
