7.1 Anniversary Selector Event Information

The free Standard 5-star selector for the 6th Anniversary of Genshin Impact is available from September 23, 2026 until November 3, 2026. During this event, players can claim one 5-star character of their choice from the Wanderlust Invocation banner!
How to Get the Free Standard Character
Access from the Event Screen
To claim your free 5-star character, go to the Event Screen in-game to access the anniversary event. Click on Invite Character to start selecting your chosen unit.
Note that the game will prompt you again to confirm your choice.
Available Every Anniversary Version
It was confirmed in the 5.0 livestream that for every anniversary versions, players can choose one free 5-star character from the standard banner!
They also confirmed that more characters will be added in the Standard Banner in the future, which means the character pool for this selector may get bigger every year!
Complete Prologue: Act I to Unlock
Travelers must first unlock the Wish system by completing Prologue: Act 1 - The Outlander Who Caught the Wind before they can choose a free Standard 5-Star Character during every anniversary version.

Best Standard 5-Star to Invite
Generally speaking, Mizuki, Mona, and Qiqi are the best standard 5-star characters to invite for new, free-to-play, or returning players as they have become more relevant in the current meta.
Tighnari and Jean are also good options for new players as their materials are a little more accessible than Mizuki's.
If you need Masterless Stella Fortuna, you can also choose an already or soon to be C6 Standard Character so you can claim one as compensation!

・Strong DPS character for newer players. ・Can help with Pyro application for puzzles, or breaking ores with his Claymore. |

・Provides interruption resistance for the party and damage mitigation, but the party still takes damage. ・Serviceable damage but if you're looking for a Pyro character who can carry you with sheer DPS, Diluc is the better pick at C0. |

・If you have Furina, Jean is one of her best healers, and can also provide the effects of Viridescent Venerer. ・More constellation also gives Anemo RES down to enemies, which characters like Xiao or Wanderer can use. |
