As a Main DPS The Cryo Traveler bears both an incredibly solid start, and a good future for their time in the Snezhnaya landscape. With access to both Stellar-Swirl and Stellar-Conduct, the story-acquired Exaiphanes Blade, and full reign over their chosen Stellar team comp due to being able to trigger reactions on their own, one can argue that out of all Traveler variants, this one is especially futureproofed. When looking at it from the lens of unit strength, the Traveler is essentially a free sidegrade to Sandrone, and can comparably match them in strength. Since that bar is currently high, it means they are considered an upgrade compared to everything else, at least when looking through the current roster of characters in this version. As for their longevity, the Traveler can and will remain relevant for most of Snezhnaya's run time, and some can argue that they will receive more support as the patches go by. However, one can also look at it as a sneak peek into just how powerful Snezhnaya's roster is shaping up to be. |

Tenacity of the Millelith Tenacity of the Millelith 2-PC: HP +20% 4-PC: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field. Heart of the Furnace Heart of the Furnace 2-PC: ATK increased by 18%. 4-PC: Increases the equipping character's ATK by 12% for 12s when they trigger a Stellar Glimmer reaction or deal Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG. Also increases Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG dealt by all nearby party members by 50%. The above effects can trigger even when the equipping character is not on the field, and the DMG bonus from multiple Artifact Sets with the same name does not stack. |
||||
| General Team Comps | ||||
| Stellar-Swirl team utilizing the Traveler's Cryo application. |
Stellar-Conduct team that makes use of the Traveler's damage potential. |
|||
Cryo Traveler's main strength lies in their being able to activate and use the Stellar Glimmer reactions to deadly effect, namely Stellar-Swirl and Stellar-Conduct alongside their more powerful Linchpin allies, and can even function without due to them being able to activate it on their own.
Since they are the Main DPS of the party, the general idea of having good stats in the form of the Exaiphanes Blade, and the Stellar Glimmer artifact sets is their best bet for equipment, most notably Disenchantment in Deep Shadows.
| Stat | Goal Value |
|---|---|
| ATK | 2,400~ |
| Energy Recharge | 125 ~ 145% |
| CRIT Rate | 70% |
| CRIT DMG | 140% or Above |
| Elemental Mastery | 150 - 200 |
As a Stellar unit, they would want a lot of ATK to increase their overall damage, especially in Stellar-Conduct teams. Afterwards, start shifting towards their Energy Recharge needs, as the Burst can deal a ton of damage.
Crit Value should still follow the 1:2 ration for balance and Elemental Mastery for Stellar-Swirl if needed.
| 1st | 2nd | 3rd |
|---|---|---|
| Elemental Burst | Normal Attack | Elemental Skill |
When used in Stellar-Swirl teams, the Traveler is more of a frontloaded Cryo Sub-DPS that applies their skills on-field then leaves to let another able-bodied user take the field. This may change if a Stellar Linchpin Anemo Off-Fielder shows up.
Until then, it is Elemental Burst then Normal Attacks since those are their main sources of damage, especially the Elemental Burst in an Off-Field role. The Elemental Skill is mainly used for application and can be ignored.
| 1st | 2nd | 3rd |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Attack | Elemental Burst | Elemental Skill |
As a Stellar-Conduct unit, they go from a frontload applicator to the main forefront of the team, making their Normal Attack the first priority to max out due to its Cryo DMG infusion passive.
Afterwards, their Elemental Burst is leveled next for the frontloaded damage, then finally their Elemental Skill can be leveled or ignored since it does not contribute much to their damage.
The Cryo Traveler benefits the most from weapons that boost Stellar Glimmer DMG, whether it comes from CRIT increases, Stellar DMG buffs, or standard EM buffs. The Exaiphanes Blade fits most of this criteria, and is their general best in slot.
Notable alternatives are the story-based Primordial Jade Cutter, which can solve their CRIT issues, and the craftable Emberwell, which provide a Stellar-Glimmer DMG bonus.

| Best-in-Slot | Exaiphanes Blade Exaiphanes Blade Base ATK: 608 Bonus Stat: CRIT Rate 33.1% Skill Effect: • When the Traveler equips this, their ATK will increase by 16% for 8s after they hit an opponent. At the same time, they will also regenerate 3 Elemental Energy. This effect can trigger once every 5s. This can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. |
| A free weapon that gives the Traveler CRIT Rate, and a Stellar-Glimmer DMG bonus. Easily their Best-in-Slot for its value alone. This weapon gains more strength at higher refinements, and the refinements are exploration-locked, making this scale incredibly well. |
|
| Best Alt | Primordial Jade Cutter Primordial Jade Cutter Base ATK: 542 Bonus Stat: CRIT Rate 44.1% Skill Effect: HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 1.2% of the wielder’s Max HP. |
| Great stat stick weapon due to it fulfilling 44% of the Traveler's CRIT Rate and providing a solid amount of ATK bonuses, giving you more room to slot into CRIT DMG. | |
| Generalist | Wolf-Fang Wolf-Fang Base ATK: 510 Bonus Stat: CRIT Rate 27.6% Skill Effect: DMG dealt by Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst is increased by 16%. When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, its CRIT Rate will be increased by 2%. When an Elemental Burst hits an opponent, its CRIT Rate will be increased by 2%. Both of these effects last 10s separately, have 4 max stacks, and can be triggered once every 0.1s. |
| Good generalist option from the battlepass that improves the Traveler's Elemental Skill performance. | |
| Best 4-Star F2P | Emberwell Emberwell Base ATK: 565 Bonus Stat: Elemental Mastery 110 Skill Effect: • Triggering an Elemental Reaction increases the equipping character's ATK by 16% for 12s. Triggering a Stellar Glimmer reaction increases their Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG dealt by 16% for 12s. The aforementioned effects can trigger even when the character is not on the field. |
| Craftable 4-star that surpasses most other choices due to how it improves EM, ATK, and Stellar Glimmer DMG at the same time, which are all welcome on the Traveler. | |

The Traveler should have either Disenchantment in Deep Shadows as their best when in Stellar-Conduct teams, or Tenacity of the Millelith for Stellar-Swirl-specific teams or as a Sub-DPS.
If no one else is holding it, the Traveler could hold the Heart of the Furnace set, but it is generally not recommended due to their role as a DPS.
| Best Artifact Sets for Cryo Traveler | |
|---|---|
| Stellar-Conduct | Disenchantment in Deep Shadows Disenchantment in Deep Shadows 2-PC: ATK +18%. 4-PC: Increases Superconduct Reaction DMG by 80% and Stellar-Conduct Reaction DMG by 40%. When the wielder attacks opponents affected by Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct, this attack's CRIT Rate is increased by 16%. |
| Stellar-Conduct specific set that the Traveler can utilize when paired with a potent Electro trigger. This is by far their best set due to most of the Traveler's damage being transformative due to Stellar-Conduct. | |
| Stellar-Swirl/Sub-DPS | Tenacity of the Millelith Tenacity of the Millelith 2-PC: HP +20% 4-PC: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field. |
| Tenacity of the Millelith is their Best-in-Slot when operating in a Stellar-Swirl team since their Frostpierce Star will be applying Cryo against enemies for its duration, and both the Stellar playstyles can benefit from this if the Traveler is played as a Sub-DPS. | |
| Alternative | Heart of the Furnace Heart of the Furnace 2-PC: ATK increased by 18%. |
| Since the Traveler is more of a Sub-DPS and is likely one of the only few characters in the party that can activate it, giving them Heart of the Furnace is the best option due to it buffing all other Stellar Glimmer damages. | |
| Artifact | Artifact Bonuses |

2-PC: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 20%. 4-PC: Defeating an enemy has a 100% chance to remove Elemental Skill CD. Can only occur once every 15s. |
| Stat Priority | ||
|---|---|---|
| Substats: CRIT DMG > CRIT Rate > ATK > Energy Recharge |
||
| Summary: • ATK% Goblet is valued over Cryo DMG Bonus due to the Traveler primarily dealing Stellar-Glimmer damage. • CRIT DMG is preferred over CRIT Rate in both main stat and sub stat due to the Traveler having multiple sources of CRIT Rate if built optimally. |

List of Artifacts and Set Bonuses
The Cryo Traveler is best placed in Stellar Glimmer-centric teams due to how well they synergize with dealing and amplifying Stellar Glimmer damage.
| Traveler Stellar-Conduct | |||
|---|---|---|---|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Team Summary In the best case scenarios, the Traveler would want Odette, Yae Miko, and Alyosha due to how much they contribute to Stellar-Conduct and the convenience of their off-field presence. Alternate Teammates Beidou, Qiqi, and Diona are all capable units who can substitute for different parts of the team if one is not available. Qiqi in particular stands out among the three as a solid option to replace someone with due to her contributions to Stellar-Conduct. |
|||
| Traveler Stellar-Swirl | |||
|---|---|---|---|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Team Summary In cases like Stellar-Swirl, Cryo Traveler mainly serves as a Sub-DPS and Stellar support for the team. Odette still finds herself slotted in this team. Mizuki is going to be your on-fielder to trigger Stellar-Swirl and increase its DMG. Alternate Teammates For the last slot, you can either opt for Sucrose or Faruzan, but for most cases, you would prefer Sucrose for the EM boost. |
|||
| Alternative | Explanation |
|---|---|
|
|
Sub-DPS Odette is one of the Traveler's near-non-negotiables when it comes to allies since her Stellar Glimmer application and status as a Cryo character makes them the Cryo core of a Stellar Glimmer team. |
|
|
Sub-DPS Considered the second core member for Stellar-Conduct teams more than the Traveler, and is one of their best-in-slot teammates when specifically used for Stellar-Conduct. |
|
|
Sub-DPS A great alternative to Yae Miko that you can opt to use. With C6, Beidou can provide massive RES Shred and EM boost on top of her defensive utility. Do note that Beidou shines best when there are multiple enemies. |
|
|
Support Alyosha can deal off-field Electro DMG, but more importantly, the amount of he can heal and buff the entire team's Stellar Conduct DMG. This is incredibly potent, especially at C6. |
|
|
Main DPS If slotting the Traveler for Stellar-Swirl teams, they occupy more of a Sub-DPS role while Mizuki takes control of the field in most scenarios. |
|
|
Support Provides a Stellar DMG bonus that can make the Traveler and other teammates' DMG more potent. Moreover, Qiqi can equip the Tenacity of the Millelith to grant more ATK to the team. |
|
|
Sub-DPS/Support In Stellar-Swirl teams, Faruzan mainly supports Mizuki as a Main DPS in the Traveler's team. At C6, she can be equipped with Tenacity of the Millelith to buff the team further. |

| Traveler (Cryo)'s Constellations | |
|---|---|
| C1 |
Somber Freeze The Traveler regenerates 5 Elemental Energy when they deal Stellar Glimmer DMG. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s. |
| C2 |
Frostfall Reverbration The active character's Elemental Mastery is increased by 60 for 5s when an opponent is hit by an ice crystal fired by the Elemental Skill Ice Fog Piercer Additionally, when a character affected by the aforementioned effect triggers a Stellar Glimmer reaction or deals Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG, the Elemental Mastery boost described above will be increased to 120 for its duration. |
| C3 |
Glacial Shard Increases the Level of the Elemental Burst Frostbound Javelin by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
| C4 |
Enduring Ice The duration of the Frostpierce Star created by the Elemental Skill Ice Fog Piercer is increased by 25%. |
| C5 |
Bittercold Fog Increases the Level of the Elemental Skill Ice Fog Piercer by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
| C6 |
Brumal Grimfost Every stack of Frostglow consumed when using the Elemental Burst Frostbound Javelin increases Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG dealt by other party members by 5% for 15s. A maximum 40% increase can be obtained in this way. |
| Rating | Constellation Effect / Merits | |
|---|---|---|
| C2 | ★★☆ | • Massively boosts the Elemental Mastery of the active character, allowing more potency in their attacks. |
| C4 | ★★☆ | • More field time for the Frostpierce Star that can apply Cryo much longer and Infused Traveler's attacks. |
| C6 | ★★★ | • Incredible buff for the team's Stellar-Glimmer DMG. |
Both from a DPS and Support perspective, C6 can give a massive boost in overall damage, thanks to the buff that it can give. When combined with the previous constellation, this is even more significant boost in damage.
Take note that the Traveler cannot currently go beyond C2, and such getting to C6 is more of a time-gated restriction more than anything.

Cryo Traveler can enable all types of Stellar-Glimmer DMG for the team, as long as you have the necessary elements for it.
This can either be Stellar-Conduct or Stellar-Swirl, depending on what the team caters to.
| Foreign Frostglint |
|---|
| Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.
Charge Attack Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes. Plunge Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact. |
| Ice Fog Piercer |
|---|
| Stabs at the opponent with the Traveler's weapon, which releases an ice-cold fog. This deals Cryo DMG to opponents up ahead and forms a Frostpierce Star next to the Traveler. Frostpierce Star: Follows your own party members around the field and periodically fires ice crystals at nearby opponents, dealing Cryo DMG. Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: The Frostpierce Star will no longer fire ice crystals at opponents at intervals but will instead fire an ice crystal at opponents in a coordinated attack when the Traveler hits an opponent with a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, or Plunging Attack. This effect can trigger once every 0.2s. |
Frostglow are markers that Traveler can consume to deal more damage. This can be applied using Elemental Skill or Charged Attack. Maximum of 8 stacks.
| Frostbound Javelin |
|---|
| Generates an ice javelin with the power of Cryo, then directs it at enemies to deal multiple instances of Cryo DMG. When cast, the Traveler consumes all existing stacks of Frostglow, which in turn increases the DMG dealt by this Elemental Burst. When 8 stacks of Frostglow are consumed, the number of DMG instances caused by the javelins is also increased. |
The Elemental Burst allows them to throw a Javelin and consume every Frostglow stacks that they have, increasing the damage of the Javelin. When in Radiance Stellar, the damage will change depending on the Stellar Glimmer DMG that you have dealt.
| Ever-Keen Frost |
|---|
| Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: When a Frostpierce Star is on the field, DMG from the Traveler's Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks are converted to Cryo DMG that cannot be overridden by another elemental infusion, and DMG dealt is also increased by 80% of the Traveler's ATK. |
| Lucent Ice |
|---|
| The Traveler's Elemental Mastery is increased by 8% of their ATK. Up to 160 Elemental Mastery can be gained in this way. |
The Frostpierce Star is essentially the Elemental Skill's coordinated attack that follows you arround. When the Traveler has that around them, every attack they deal is infused with Cryo.
Unlike the Pyro Traveler, the Cryo Traveler can be unlocked by simply interacting with any of the Snezhnayan statues, making it easy to access as soon as you reach Snezhnaya.
