Nilou's build centers on Bloom reactions and generating Bountiful Cores. To maximize her Bountiful Core damage, stack HP% main stats while combining 2pc Tenacity of the Millelith with 2pc Vourukasha's Glow.
When pairing Nilou with Nod-Krai units (such as Lauma or Columbina), her signature Bountiful Cores upgrade into Bountiful Lunar Cores. While the core team mechanics shift toward Lunar Bloom, Nilou's personal build remains focused entirely on Max HP to push her Dreamy Dance of Aeons passive buff to its maximum threshold.
If Nilou reaches her HP cap without needing double 2-piece HP% set bonuses, switching her to Silken Moon's Serenade is a good alternative. Her off-field Hydro aura reliably triggers the set's Elemental Mastery and Lunar Reaction buffs, freeing up your other teammates to run purely offensive artifact configurations.

Nilou's main focus is to stack her HP as high as she can, with a limit of around 74,000 HP. Anything above 60,000 is already more than enough, but more is appreciated.
As a general rule of thumb, Nilou's Energy Recharge should be around 170% on average as that will allow her to use her Elemental Burst almost every rotation.

HP Weapons are Best for Nilou
Key of Khaj-Nisut is her best-in-slot signature weapon, offering a massive HP boost and converting a portion of her Max HP into extra Elemental Mastery.
For alternatives, any sword featuring an HP% sub-stat is an excellent choice to enhance Nilou's Bountiful Core damage.
EM or ER Weapons are Second Best
Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge Substat weapons are the second best type of weapons for Nilou. Elemental Mastery can be very useful for situations where she triggers a Bountiful Core reaction while Energy Recharge can be useful if you need Nilou to use her Elemental Burst off cooldown.

Nilou wants to stack as much HP as possible to maximize her Bountiful Core damage, making 2-piece HP set bonuses ideal. Currently, Tenacity of the Millelith and Vourukasha's Glow are the only two sets that offer this effect.
However, if you have a highly invested Nilou who can reach her HP target without set bonuses, and you are running a Lunar-Bloom setup, you can consider Silken Moon's Serenade instead.

Nilou's main niche and proper role is that of a Bloom enabler, as her own passives allow her to boost the damage of Bloom teams in general.
However, the main limitation here is that Nilou's teams must only be composed of Hydro and Dendro units, as the presence of any other element nullifies Bloom core damage and therefore hinders Nilou in general.

Nilou's best constellation is The Starry Skies Their Flowers Rain, which is her second constellation. It's the best one to unlock if you plan on heavily investing in Dendro Core-focused teams. This provides a huge DPS increase for your Hydro and Dendro characters while also being very easy to trigger.
How to Play Nilou
Bloom Support Character
Nilou's main role in combat is transforming standard Bloom cores into enhanced, fast-exploding Bountiful Cores using her Elemental Skill in a Hydro- and Dendro-only team.
By executing her full Elemental Skill sequence (E > E > E > E), she creates a Tranquility Aura that enables off-field Hydro application while constantly buffing team-wide Bloom reaction damage based on her Max HP.

Elemental Skill
| Dance of Haftkarsvar |

| Enters the Pirouette state, dealing Hydro DMG to nearby opponents based on Nilou's Max HP. While she is in the Pirouette state, Nilou's Normal Attacks and Elemental Skill will cause her to enter the Sword Dance and Whirling Steps stances respectively, causing DMG she deals to be converted to Hydro DMG that cannot be overridden and that is considered Elemental Skill DMG. In these stances, Nilou's third dance step will end Pirouette, and has the following effects based on the type of said dance step: - Sword Dance: unleashes a Luminous Illusion that deals Hydro DMG to opponents and grants Nilou the Lunar Prayer effect. This effect converts Nilou's Normal Attacks into Sword Dance techniques, and her final hit will unleash a Luminous Illusion. - Whirling Steps: Nilou unleashes a Whirling Water Wheel that deals AoE Hydro DMG and creates a Tranquility Aura that follows your active character around and applies Wet to opponents within its AoE. Nilou is unable to perform Charged Attacks when under the effect of Pirouette or Lunar Prayer. These effects will be removed once she leaves the field. |
Hydro Infusion or Off-Field Application
Nilou's Elemental Skill deals AoE Hydro damage, converts her attacks to Hydro, and has two forms that can change depending on what you do after activating the Elemental Skill.
Sword Dance Form
If the third dance step from Dance of Haftkarsvar is a Normal Attack she will enter the Sword Dance form. This form converts all Normal Attacks into Hydro DMG and sends out a wave that deals Hydro DMG.
Whirling Steps Form
If Nilou uses her Elemental Skill again for her third dance step, she will enter the Whirling Steps form. During this form Nilou will twirl around, dealing AoE Hydro DMG. At the end of the attack, she will create a Tranquility Aura that applies the wet status around the enemies within the AoE.
Elemental Burst

Quick AoE Nuke
Nilou's Elemental Burst deals AoE Hydro damage and applies a special state on the opponents hit. This special state will detonate after a short time, dealing Hydro DMG.

| When all characters in the party are all Dendro or Hydro, and there are at least one Dendro character and one Hydro character:
The completion of the third dance step of Nilou's Dance of Haftkarsvar will grant all nearby characters the Golden Chalice's Bounty for 30s upon its completion. Characters under the effect of Golden Chalice's Bounty will increase the Elemental Mastery of all nearby characters by 100 for 10s whenever they are hit by Dendro attacks. Also, triggering the Bloom reaction will create Bountiful Cores instead of Dendro Cores. Such Cores will burst very quickly after being created, and they have larger AoEs. Bountiful Cores cannot trigger Hyperbloom or Burgeon, and they share an upper numerical limit with Dendro Cores. Bountiful Core DMG is considered DMG dealt by Dendro Cores produced by Bloom. Should the party not meet the conditions for this Passive Talent, any existing Golden Chalice's Bounty effects will be canceled. |
Bountiful Cores with Double Hydro and Dendro
The Golden Chalice's Bounty state will only be available if the entire party consists of only Dendro and Hydro characters. This state will trigger after the third hit from Dance of Haftkarsvar.
During this state, all characters will have increased Elemental Mastery and will create Bountiful cores instead of Dendro Cores when triggering the bloom reaction. Bountiful Cores are bigger, more powerful, and explode instantly.

Extra Adventure-Related Dishes
Nilou's Passive Talent gives her a certain chance of producing extra dishes when cooking recipes with Adventure-related Effects. Adventure-related effects include food that increases stamina or reduces cold buildup.

Nilou will be available for free as part of the 5-star character selector in the Tabletop Troupe: A Gathering on Adventure's Eve event, launching on September 23, 2026, for Genshin Impact's sixth anniversary.
