| Strengths | |||
|---|---|---|---|
|
• Allows the Lunar-Charged reaction, a stronger variant of Electro-Charged that can CRIT. • High damage multipliers on Lunar-Charged procs, which scale off the stats of both Flins and his allies. • A percentage of Flins' ATK is converted to Elemental Mastery, and his main artifact set reduces his CRIT Rate requirement, providing convenience in building him. |
|||
| Weaknesses | |||
|
• Flins is a DPS only suitable for Lunar-Charged, which is especially evident since most of his damage comes from the Lunar-Charged reaction itself. • Needs active investment into Energy Recharge in order to reliably trigger his Special Elemental Burst. |

Flins functions as a DPS that makes use of frequent Lunar-Charged procs to deal damage. Because of that, he is outfitted with Bloodsoaked Ruins and Night of the Sky's Unveiling since both cater towards Lunar-Charged.
By nature of Flins' kit and Lunar-Charged's damage origins, Flins builds into Energy Recharge and CRIT in order to dish out more accumulated damage with his teammates.
| Stat | Goal Value |
|---|---|
| ATK | 2,500+ |
| Energy Recharge | 130 - 140% (Double Electro) 160%+ (Solo Electro) Not recommended |
| CRIT Rate | 40~50% before Night of the Sky's Unveiling CRIT Rate bonus |
| CRIT DMG | 175% or Above |
| Elemental Mastery | 100 - 200 |
Flins wants to focus on meeting his 2,500 ATK and 130~140% Energy Recharge goal points, CRIT Rate or DMG, then any remaining on Elemental Mastery.
Having an upwards of 2,000 ATK will grant Flins 160 bonus Elemental Mastery, which is highly useful in a predominantly reaction-based team, and having upwards of 140% Energy Recharge lets Flins use his Special Elemental Burst reliably.
The rest of his stats should go into CRIT, with 50% CRIT Rate out-of-combat being the baseline thanks to Night of the Sky's Unveiling's passive, and 175% CRIT DMG or more.

| Elemental Burst | Elemental Skill | Normal Attack |
Flins' kit revolves around his Elemental Burst, its mini-Burst variant, and the Lunar-Charged DMG it provides, and should be prioritized first, with his Elemental Skill following suit after.
Normal Attacks can be ignored as Flins will mostly be fighting in his Elemental Skill state.
Bloodsoaked Ruins is Flins' best weapon due to how it fully synergizes with his Lunar-Charged based kit. Alternatively, Flins can also make use of the Prospector's Shovel Nod-Krai craftable.
Otherwise, general Elemental DMG weapons like Staff of the Scarlet Sands work for its stat conversion effect and Elemental Skill buffs, or a general DPS weapon like the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear.
| Best Weapons for Flins | |
|---|---|
| Best-in-Slot | Bloodsoaked Ruins Bloodsoaked Ruins Base ATK: 674 Bonus Stat: CRIT Rate 22.1% Skill Effect: For 3.5s after using an Elemental Burst, the equipping character's Lunar-Charged DMG dealt to opponents is increased by 36%. Additionally, after triggering a Lunar-Charged reaction, the equipping character will gain Requiem of Ruin: CRIT DMG is increased by 28% for 6s. They will also regain 12 Elemental Energy. Elemental Energy can be restored this way once every 14s. |
| Bloodsoaked Ruins is Flins' best competitive option for its specific DMG bonus towards Lunar-Charged DMG. In addition, the CRIT DMG and Elemental Energy increases allows Flins to reach his stat breakpoints easier when taking the weapon's effects into account. |
|
| EM-Focused | Staff of the Scarlet Sands Staff of the Scarlet Sands Base ATK: 542 Bonus Stat: CRIT Rate 44.1% Skill Effect: The equipping character gains 52% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. When an Elemental Skill hits opponents, the Dream of the Scarlet Sands effect will be gained for 10s: The equipping character will gain 28% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK. Max 3 stacks. |
| Flins benefits from the dual conversion that Staff of the Scarlet Sands offers, as Lunar-Charged both benefits from ATK and Elemental Mastery. In addition, the weapon has innately high CRIT Rate that helps Flins meets his requirements and lean towards more CRIT DMG on his artifact substats. |
|
| Generalist Option | Primordial Jade Winged-Spear Primordial Jade Winged-Spear Base ATK: 674 Bonus Stat: CRIT Rate 22.1% Skill Effect: On hit, increases ATK by 3.2% for 6s. Max 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. While in possession of the maximum possible stacks, DMG dealt is increased by 12%. |
| Good general purpose weapon for its ATK and CRIT Rate stat bonuses, which Flins welcomes. This is a baseline weapon that works for anyone, and will serve Flins well. Typically only used when it's already in your account, and should not actively be sought after if better options are available. |
|
| F2P (Event) | Missive Windspear Missive Windspear Base ATK: 510 Bonus Stat: ATK 41.3% Skill Effect: Within 10s after an Elemental Reaction is triggered, ATK is increased by 12% and Elemental Mastery is increased by 48. |
| Provides ATK and Elemental Mastery bonuses that Flins can use to boost his overall damage. Since this does not bring any CRIT stats, Flins must compensate for the lack of it within his artifact stats, which makes building slightly harder. |
|
| F2P (Craftable) | Prospector's Shovel Prospector's Shovel Base ATK: 510 Bonus Stat: ATK 41.3% Skill Effect: Electro-Charged DMG is increased by 48%, and Lunar-Charged DMG is increased by 12%. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: Lunar-Charged DMG is increased by an additional 12%. |
| Arguably a great long-standing option for him if his signature weapon is not available since it specifically buffs Lunar-Charged and benefits from Ascendant Gleam. Since its secondary stat is ATK, Flins must make up for the lack of CRIT in his artifact stats. |

Night of the Sky's Unveiling is undoubtedly Flins' best artifact set due to his role as a Lunar-Charged DPS that hails from Nod-Krai, making full use of the artifact set's CRIT Rate bonus.
Alternatives to this can be Thundering Fury for its Quality-of-Life cooldown reductions, or Marechaussee Hunter if he is paired with Furina.
| Best Artifact Sets for Flins | |
|---|---|
| Best-in-Slot | Night of the Sky's Unveiling Night of the Sky's Unveiling 2-PC: Elemental Mastery +80 4-PC: When nearby party members trigger Lunar Reactions, if the equipping character is on the field, gain the Gleaming Moon: Intent effect for 4s: Increases CRIT Rate by 15%/30% when the party's Moonsign is Nascent/Ascendant Gleam. All party members' Lunar Reaction DMG is increased by 10% for each different Gleaming Moon effect that party members have. Effects from Gleaming Moon cannot stack. |
| Flins' Best-in-Slot Artifact Set due to the free 30% CRIT Rate passive and the 20% Lunar-Charge DMG increase, which is almost near-constantly active on him since he can easily meet those requirements in most cases. | |
| Generalist | Gilded Dreams x2 2-PC: Elemental Mastery +80 4-PC: Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members. ATK is increased by 14% for each member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and EM is increased by 50 for every member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s and even when not on the field. Gladiator's Finale x2 2-PC: ATK +18%. 4-PC: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%. |
| Flins generally wants ATK and EM to boost his damage, and can tide over with 2-pc. EM and 2-pc. ATK until he gets a full set of Night of the Sky's Unveiling. Alternatively, the 2-pc. EM option can be swapped out for Energy Recharge if Flins needs it. |
|
| With Furina | Marechaussee Hunter Marechaussee Hunter 2-PC: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15% 4-PC: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks. |
| Niche alternative that provides more CRIT Rate in teams where he is with an HP-draining character like Furina. Also improves sustained damage since it passively increases Normal and Charged ATK damage, which he weaves during his combo. |

2-PC: CRIT Rate +12% 4-PC: When HP is below 70%, CRIT Rate increases by an additional 24%. |
| Stat Priority | ||
|---|---|---|
| Substats: Energy Recharge > ATK > CRIT DMG > CRIT Rate > Elemental Mastery |
||
| Summary: • The majority of Flins' damage comes from his mini-Elemental Burst, which requires having good Energy Recharge to be reliable. • With how Lunar-Charged is calculated, Flins wants his ATK stacked as high as possible without sacrificing other stats, and is generally more important than CRIT DMG. This is also why an ATK goblet is preferred over Electro DMG Bonus. • CRIT DMG is preferred over CRIT Rate due to the CRIT Rate abundance that Flins gets from Night of the Sky's Unveiling. |

List of Artifacts and Set Bonuses
As the premier Lunar-Charged DPS unit, Flins highly values Electro and Hydro teammates who helps him trigger and maintain Lunar-Charged on opponents, as well as top him up on elemental energy.
In addition, allies who can increase the team's Elemental Mastery or reduce elemental resistances are also highly beneficial to Flins since it also increases total Lunar-Charged damage.

Team Summary Flins will generally want a Hydro applicator like Columbina, who also doubles by improving Lunar DMG in general, an Electro battery like Ineffa, who also serves as the team's sustain, and an EM buffer that can improve Lunar-Charged DMG further. Sucrose fits the bill for this, but generally this role can also fall towards anyone that can improve the team's damage, and is not strictly reserved for an Anemo unit. Alternate Teammates Aino can serve as a substitute for Columbina in F2P teams, who can still increase the team's Moonsign Level, and contributing to accumulated Lunar-Charged DMG thanks to her full Elemental Mastery Builds. Fischl can replace Ineffa in F2P team scenarios, serving as an electro battery and independent off-field Sub-DPS, although forsaking the team's sustain if no other sustain unit is chosen. |

| Alternative | Explanation |
|---|---|
|
|
Support Lan Yan provides defensive utility and VV shred. She can also provide an ATK% damage buff with TTDS, making Flins' teams more comfortable especially if one does not have Ineffa. |
|
|
Sub-DPS Yelan brings out solid Hydro application and DMG, as well as an Elemental DMG bonus that helps Flins keep up Lunar-Charge uptime. |
|
|
Sub-DPS As Lunar-Charge is an extension of Electro-Charge, Ororon can function as both an Electro Sub-DPS and Battery for Flins, while being specially kitted out for Electro-Charge. |
|
|
Support Candace at C6 works well with Flins in the sense that she becomes a potent source of Off-Field Hydro for Flins to proc Lunar-Chage with. |
|
|
Sub-DPS Xingqiu functions on a similar vein as Yelan, but brings some form of damage reduction and healing while still keeping up with Hydro application. |
|
|
Support Mona's C1 allows her to increase Lunar-Charge's damage by 15% when the enemies are under the effect of her Elemental Burst's Omen status. |
|
|
Sub-DPS While Furina increases raw Elemental DMG, she does not buff Lunar-Charge in general, making her more of a solo Hydro Sub-DPS option and raw damage buffer than a pure Lunar-Charge option. |
|
|
Support Kokomi brings both healing and Hydro application, which makes her a great comfortable option, but does not help out with damage as much as other options. |
|
|
Sub-DPS/Support As a support, Kuki Shinobu functions as an Electro healer if the team lacks healing, but functions more potently as a Hyperbloom trigger, but may have trouble activating Bloom cores due to Flins' overwhelming Electro. |
Flins' entire kit revolves around Lunar-Charged and we don't recommend using him on other reactions like Overload as it disables half of his kit and majority of his damage profile.
If you must use him in the likes of Hyperbloom, make sure to at least have enough Hydro application if you're running a strong Dendro like Nahida.

| Flins's Constellations | |
|---|---|
| C1 |
Part of the Veil of Snow The basic cooldown of the special Elemental Skill Northland Spearstorm is reduced to 4s. Additionally, when party members trigger Lunar-Charged reactions, Flins will recover 8 Elemental Energy. This effect can occur once every 5.5s. |
| C2 |
The Devil's Wall For the next 6s after using the special Elemental Skill Northland Spearstorm, when Flins's next Normal Attack hits an opponent, it will deal an additional 50% of Flins's ATK as AoE Electro DMG. This DMG is considered Lunar-Charged DMG. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: While Flins is on the field, after his Electro attacks hit an opponent, that opponent's Electro RES will be decreased by 25% for 7s. |
| C3 |
Stranger in the Night Increases the Level of Ancient Ritual: Cometh the Night by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
| C4 |
Night on Bald Mountain Flins's ATK is increased by 20%. Additionally, his Ascension Talent "Whispering Flame" is enhanced: Flins's Elemental Mastery is increased by 10% of his ATK. The maximum increase obtainable this way is 220. |
| C5 |
Exile's Shadow Increases the Level of Ancient Rite: Arcane Light by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
| C6 |
Songs and Dances of Death The DMG dealt to opponents by Flins's Lunar-Charged reactions is elevated by 35%. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: All nearby party members' Lunar-Charged DMG is elevated by 10%. |
| Rating | Constellation Effect / Merits | |
|---|---|---|
| C1 | ★★★ |
• Reduces Special Elemental Skill cooldown. • Restores 8 Energy to Flins every 5.5 seconds when triggering Lunar-Charged reactions. |
| C2 | ★★☆ |
• Gives Flins a special Normal Attack that deals 50% as AoE Lunar-Charged DMG. • Reduces the Electro RES of opponents by 25% when struck by Electro attacks while Flins is On-Field. |
| C4 | ★★☆ |
• Increases Flins' ATK by 20%. • Flins' Elemental Mastery is increased by 10% of his ATK, up to a maximum of 220. |
While Flins' constellations give him an increase in overall damage, most of his constellations are more extras rather than must-haves, as he can already function quite well even without Constellations.
If you want to push for any Constellations, try for his C1 as that will increase the uptime of his special Elemental Skill, as well as provide him a way to earn back energy as you will usually not build as much Energy Recharge on him.
| Standard Rotation | Activate Elemental Skill→ Press Elemental Skill again → Special Elemental Burst → Normal Attacks → Elemental Skill → Special Elemental Burst |
|---|
This combo makes use of Flins' Manifest Flame Form as his attacks will be imbued with Electro Infusion and transforming his skill into Northland Spearstorm. After using Northland Spearstorm, his Burst upgrades into Thunderous Symphony.
The combo utilizes these transformations to properly dish out devastating damage in the most efficient way.
Flins' main playstyle is to activate his Elemental Burst and trigger as much Lunar-Charged reactions as possible while dealing steady damage thanks to the DMG buffs that Lunar-Charge provides him with, triggering his Elemental Skill when available.
| Poczstowy Demonspear |
|---|
| Performs up to 5 consecutive spear strikes.
Charge Attack Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to perform a forward spear throw. Plunge Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact. |
| Ancient Rite: Arcane Light |
|---|
| Flins summons forth the ancient power concealed within his lamp and switches to his Manifest Flame form. This form has the following characteristics: Northland Spearstorm Flins summons a flurry of spears in front, dealing AoE Electro DMG and causing his Elemental Burst Ancient Ritual: Cometh the Night to be replaced with the special Elemental Burst Thunderous Symphony for the next 6s. The base CD of Northland Spearstorm is 6s and will not be affected by other effects. • Thunderous Symphony Consume less Elemental Energy to unleash a special Elemental Burst. Flins deals a single instance of AoE Electro DMG. This DMG is considered Lunar-Charged DMG. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: If there are thunderclouds nearby, Flins will deal 1 additional instance of AoE Electro DMG. This DMG is considered Lunar-Charged DMG. • Flins' Normal and Charged Attacks deal Electro DMG that cannot be overridden by other Elemental infusions, and he is unable to perform Plunging Attacks. • His interruption resistance is increased. • His Elemental Skill Ancient Rite: Arcane Light is replaced with the special Elemental Skill Northland Spearstorm. |
| Ancient Ritual: Cometh the Night |
|---|
| Flins unleashes the true power of his lamp, dealing AoE Electro DMG and, after a short delay, dealing 2 instances of middle-phase and 1 instance of final-phase AoE Electro DMG, all of which are considered Lunar-Charged DMG.
Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: Flins's Skill is enhanced: If there are thunderclouds nearby, Flins will deal an additional 2 instances of middle-phase Lunar-Charged AoE Electro DMG. After using the special Elemental Skill Northland Spearstorm, Flins's Elemental Burst Ancient Ritual: Cometh the Night will be replaced with the special Elemental Burst Thunderous Symphony for the next 6s. Thunderous Symphony Consume less Elemental Energy to unleash a special Elemental Burst. Flins deals a single instance of AoE Electro DMG that is considered Lunar-Charged DMG. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: Flins's Skill is enhanced: If there are thunderclouds nearby, Flins will deal an additional instance of Lunar-Charged AoE Electro DMG. |
| Symphony of Winter |
|---|
| Flins will gain a corresponding buff effect based on the party's Moonsign. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: Lunar-Charged reactions triggered by Flins will deal an additional 20% DMG. |
When you have two Moonsign characters and unlock Ascendant Gleam, Flins' Lunar-Charged DMG deals an additional 20%.
| Whispering of Flame |
|---|
| Flins's Elemental Mastery is increased by 8% of his ATK. The maximum increase obtainable this way is 160. |
| Moonsign Benediction: Old World Secrets |
|---|
| When a party member triggers an Electro-Charged reaction, it will be converted into the Lunar-Charged reaction, with every 100 ATK that Flins has increasing Lunar-Charged's Base DMG by 0.7%, up to a maximum of 14%. Additionally, when Flins is in the party, the party's Moonsign will increase by 1 level. |
When Flins is in the party, he converts Electro-Charged into Lunar-Charged, which scales on Elemental Mastery. In tandem with his Passive Talent 2, this condition is easily satisfied as his Elemental Mastery increases with ATK. By utilizing his Elemental Skill's Manifest Flame Form, and triggering Lunar-Charged, his team deals tremendous damage.
