The Exalted Ones are a batch of 16 characters that are chosen to receive buffs to their ATK, DEF, and HP while fighting in Stygian Onslaught. These characters refresh every day based on what other players use for completion on Dire difficulty.
Take note that these characters only buff the characters you already have and will not grant you free access to all 16 characters if you do not personally own them.
Stygian Onslaught's fights are easier to manage if you challenge its Co-Op mode with 4 players. On that note, each Co-Op team is based on this idea and assumes that you are running the challenge in full Co-Op.
If you are looking for people to team up with, then try our Co-Op boards here below to find others who are willing to take on the Stygian Onslaught challenge together.

Since the Domovoy Sculptor requires Stellar reactions to keep them from powering up, Stellar teams such as Stellar-Swirl and Stellar-Conduct are perfect and nearly required for this challenge.

Bringing units that are fitted for Stellar teams and piling them up is a good strategy. You can opt for a non-sustain team or go full out, but be mindful of your health!

Due to the Secret Source Automaton's cryo-specific mechanic, you are required to use Cryo characters to thin down its Cryo gauge, making Freeze teams your best option for this challenge.

Center your team around the Freeze reaction, and bring two DPS units or more since you can take advantage of multiple on-field characters.

Due to the Guardian Blade of Drifting Snow's ice coffin mechanic, Stellar reactions are highly encouraged and nearly required in higher difficulties to cut through the shielding and let you finish the fight in ample time.
Since you only need either Electro or Anemo units, you can run any team so long as you have a way to destroy the shield via the activation of Stellar reactions. On this note, an alternative team like Lunar-Charged works well for this role.
Due to the Cryo nature of the ice coffin, a Pyro-based Hexerei team comp consisting of Varka, Venti, Durin, and Nicole can work well against this boss.

Bringing multiple Stellar DPS units can burn through the boss shields quickly, making it your best bet for this Stygian Onslaught.
Otherwise, a Hexerei Pyro team in Co-Op works well to chew through boss defenses the brute-force way.

• Generates ice sculptures. • Stellar Glimmer DMG can prevent him from summoning the Big-Mouthed Jack Frost. |
|
| Special Boss Mechanics | ||
| • When battle begins, the Nemesis will attempt to create a Prime Ice sculpture. Once completed, it will transform into a Big-Mouthed Jack Frost that continuously launches snowballs. Inflict Radiance: Stellar Glimmer on the Nemesis while it is creating the sculpture to turn the ice sculpture into a harmless animal statue instead. |
||
| Special Boss Mechanics (Fearless and Above) | ||
| • Due to the effects of the Ley Line disturbance, the Nemesis will start the battle with greatly increased All Elemental RES and Physical RES and will create Prime Ice sculptures more frequently. After an ice sculpture is transformed into a small animal statue, it will explode following a brief delay, dealing damage to the Nemesis and reducing its All Elemental RES and Physical RES, while further reducing its Anemo RES. This effect can stack up to 3 times. | ||

The entire moveset of the Battle-Hardened Domovoy Sculptor requires it to create a Big-Mouthed Jack Frost via ice sculpture generation.
The Sculptor will attempt to create these ice sculptures at regular intervals, but damaging him with Stellar-Glimmer interrupts this process, and deals a great amount of backlash DMG at higher difficulties.
For the most part, avoid the vortexes that the Sculptor spawns on the field, which means repositioning yourself. Doing this lets you avoid the devastating damage that these vortexes do otherwise.
This boss doesn't really have any complicated mechanics that you need to be wart of. Simply having a team centered around Stellar will do the trick.

• Starts in Sweeper Mode. • Bring consistent Cryo application to break Flow Momentum. It does not have to deal damage, but just needs to be consistent. |
||
| Special Boss Mechanics | |||
| • Will immediately enter Sweeper Mode when combat starts: All RES is greatly increased, and it will perform rotating attacks while generating Flow Momentum. It will Flow Momentum after taking Cryo DMG. Below a certain Flow Momentum value, it will temporarily stop rotating and attacking, and its All RES will be greatly decreased. • If an active character enters and maintains the Nightsoul's Blessing state for a time, this opponent will enter Counterstrike Mode and switch to attacking with tracking rays. At this time, its All RES will be greatly decreased. |
|||
| Special Boss Mechanics (Fearless and Above) | |||
| • Affected by the Ley Line disturbance, this great foe has its All RES further increased, and it loses less Flow Momentum when struck by Cryo DMG. When in Counterstrike Mode, it will launch even more powerful tracking ray attacks, and it will lose less RES. | |||

The Secret Source Automaton focuses all of its power to its Sweeper Mode's Flow Momentum generation. Bringing consistent Cryo application can disable this mechanic, which stops the constant laser from the Automaton, as well as dropping its defenses when Flow Momentum is near 0.
When using this method, it is important to note that the damage of the Cryo application does not matter, but only the frequency of the application itself. Keep this in mind when constructing a team that can keep its Flow Momentum at low levels.
Alternatively, you are able to use Nightsoul Characters to disable Sweeper Mode from the Secret Source Automaton and force it into Counterstrike Mode, which lowers its All RES in the same way as it would when you counter Sweeper Mode.
This is viable but requires some form of enhanced sustain since the Automaton's Counterstrike Mode makes it do more aggressive attacks that have the capacity to wipe you out.
As mentioned previously, Cryo characters are a must, but Co-Op mode is more lenient since you can have multiple DPS units on the field, rendering the Cryo mechanic a non-issue in most scenarios.

• Encases itself in an ice coffin at a certain HP interval, becoming impervious to all damage. | ||
| Special Boss Mechanics | |||
| • When its HP falls below a certain threshold, the Nemesis will create a Cryo Ward to protect itself. This can only occur once per challenge. While the ward is active, the Nemesis restores a portion of its HP. If the ward is destroyed, the Nemesis takes backlash DMG. If the Nemesis is affected by Radiance: Stellar Glimmer, Electro and Anemo attacks will deplete the ward more effectively. | |||
| Special Boss Mechanics (Fearless and Above) | |||
| • When its HP falls below a certain threshold, the Nemesis will create a Cryo Ward to protect itself. While the ward is active, the Nemesis will attack with icy storms. If the ward is not destroyed, the Nemesis restores a portion of its HP. If the ward is destroyed, the Nemesis takes backlash DMG. Due to the Ley Line disturbance, its Cryo Ward will be more durable. A short time after the ward is broken for the first time, the Nemesis will create another Cryo Ward. • While the Cryo Ward is active, if the Nemesis is affected by Radiance: Stellar Glimmer, the Cryo Ward will transform into a shield that absorbs DMG. Once the shield is destroyed, the Nemesis will take a large amount of backlash DMG. |

The Guardian Blade of the Drifting Snow's entire gimmick is focused on having its health whittled down and having it enter its Ice Coffin state. Once this happens, you must use either Stellar Glimmer reactions or Pyro attacks to break through the Ice Coffin, then continue doing damage to it.
Due to this mechanic, this boss can stall for the most time since being unable to break the Ice Coffin's shield means it will replenish HP and end your run.
You will have an easier time breaking through the shield since you will have more on-field application available, making this more of a non-issue.
