Leah should be your first awakening priority because she provides valuable healing support early in the game. Awakening her unlocks stronger healing spells, including Cura at Level 1 and Curaga at Level 2, helping keep your party alive while progressing through the story. Her higher awakening levels also provide additional support abilities.
Cloud is another strong investment, especially for players who want to improve their damage against bosses. Awakening him to Level 2 unlocks Cross-Slash and powerful bonuses, including increased physical attack damage and a substantial critical rate boost against enemies in the Stagger state.
Warrior of Light and Terra can be awakened to Level 1 if you have spare materials and want to strengthen your available options. For other Visions, you can hold off on spending awakening materials for now. It doesn't mean those Visions are bad; simply prioritize Leah and Cloud first.

Cloud and Leah remain top priorities in the mid-game. Cloud's higher awakening levels improve his offensive potential, while Leah provides important healing support. Her Curaga spell is especially valuable before Fina learns it naturally at Level 35, making Leah useful for maintaining your party's survivability through the story.
Tidus, Noctis, and Terra are worth awakening to Level 2 as you expand your roster and develop more combat options. Consider which characters best fit your current party before spending materials, since the most useful Vision can vary depending on your team composition and the enemies you're facing.
Tronn and Y’shtola only need Level 1 for now. The remaining Visions can stay at ★0 until you have more materials or a specific reason to invest in them.
