Don't Pay and Take the Long Road for EXP

We recommend not paying 1,000 Gil to Lid and instead taking the long road through Mt. Thunderclap. While the dungeon has a lot of hard-hitting enemies, this allows you to save your Gil while giving you the chance to grind EXP.

While there are valuable items like the Cape of the Raiju and a Tablet Shard available if you pay Lid and take her shortcut, you can still obtain them after finishing the dungeon by using the Back Entrance of Mt. Thunderclap.

If you change your mind and want an easier time, you can interact with the left wall after entering Mt. Thunderclap and choose to pay Lid.

If you pay Lid 1,000 Gil, she will set up a ladder on the wall, allowing you to access a shortcut to the end of the dungeon. If you have plenty of Gil to spare and want to avoid a difficult run through the dungeon, choose this option.

Note that even if you pay 1,000 Gil, the option to take the long road toward the end of Mt. Thunderclap is still available.

Neither Option Affects the Story

Choosing either option does not impact the story; it is simply a choice between taking a shortcut inside Mt. Thunderclap by paying Lid 1,000 Gil or taking the long road to grind for EXP.
