How to Get Carbuncle

Inspect the Gravestone Inside Ruby Cave

Ruby Cave Gravestone

To unlock Carbuncle, head inside the Ruby Cave and examine the gravestone. A cutscene will activate showing a riddle that gives hints about the location of the three Ruby Fragments.

Pick Up the 3 Ruby Fragments in Order

You will need to pick up the three Ruby Fragments below in order. These will appear in the form of blue sparkling spots in the overworld.

Southeast of Rukh Cave

The first Ruby Fragment can be found in between the two lakes southeast of Rukh Cave.

Southwest of Sanctum of Squall

The second Ruby Fragment can be found on the path southwest of Sanctum of Squall. Starting from the first Ruby Fragment, make your way up northeast on the path leading to the Sanctum of Squall.

West of Olderion

The third Ruby Fragment can be found west of Olderion. Head west and cross the two wooden bridges and head up to the elevated grassy cliff to find the the blue sparkly spot.

After collecting all three Ruby Fragments, go back to the Ruby Cave and examine the gravestone to unlock Carbuncle.

All Carbuncle Skills and Effects

Skill Effect
Ruby Light Casts Reflect that lasts for 3 turns on all party members.
Healing Ruby Restore moderate amount of HP and adds Regen that lasts for 5 turns on all party members.
