List of Contents
| All Status Ailments | Effect |
|---|---|
| Receive damage everytime the affected character does an action (e.g. Attack) | |
| Being inflicted with Blind lowers attack accuracy. | |
| Getting inflicted with Sleep prevents the character from taking action. However, if the affected character gets attacked with a physical attack, they will wake up. | |
| Characters inflicted with the silence status ailment cannot use magic. | |
| Paralysis prevents the inflicted character on taking any action. | |
| Just like paralysis, Petrify prevents the inflicted character on taking any action. However, it will result in a game over if the entire party is affected by this ailment. | |
| The inflicted character will attack an ally or enemy at random. This effect can be removed by hitting them with a physical attack. | |
| The character inflicted with Charm will attack allies at random. | |
| Berserk is a status ailment that buffs the character's attack. However, the character will become uncontrollable and will attack randomly. | |
| Instantly KOs the affected character. When a character is under the effects of Doom, a turn count will start which will lead to an instant death if the count is not prevented. |

If a party member is inflicted with a status effect, the best way to remove it is to cast Esuna on them. It will remove all status effects except for KO.

Items such as the Remedy can heal all status effects when used on a character affected by an ailment.
There are other items you can use—such as the Antidote Herb, Echo Herb, Eye Drops, Gold Needle, and Herb of Awakening—that heal specific status effects.

Some Visions, like Leah's, grant passives that prevent status effects from being inflicted on the character equipping them.
