Final Fantasy Resonance is sold as a Game Key Card for Nintendo Switch 2. This means that if you buy a physical release of the game for Nintendo Switch 2, the game key card will not contain the full game data, and you will still need to connect to the internet to download the game.

Game Key Cards Are Physical Licenses That Allow You to Download Games
Game Key Cards are a type of physical cartridge that acts like a license for Nintendo Switch 2 games. Unlike in Nintendo Switch 1, where the full game data can be stored in the cartridge, a Game Key Card does not contain the full game.
Instead, the card serves as a digital license key. Once it is input into the Nintendo Switch 2, you will need to download the full game from the internet, so there needs to be storage space in your console. After downloading, the game will launch and you can play as long as the key card is inserted. You will need to insert the Game Key Card every time you play similar to a regular cartridge.
