This is a guide on how to beat the boss Aether in Final Fantasy Resonance (FF Resonance). See the best strategy to defeat Aether, as well as its weaknesses and drops here.
List of Contents
Aether's only weakness is Ice, meaning you'll want to use Tronn, Terra, and Noctis to target his one vulnerability. Since Lasswell has Ice attacks by default, you should look to equip the Visions on the other 3 party members instead.
If ever, you should at least bring Tronn since his Hibernal Fury Resonance will deal a ton of damage to the boss whenever they're staggered.
Aether's main gimmick is that they summon minions to assist them in battle. Whenever they do this, swap your focus to killing the extra enemies, since you can easily get overwhelmed if you allow them to stay alive.
Throughout the fight, you will want Rain to draw in Aether's aggro and have him tank any hard-hitting physical attacks. Make sure that he also has Protect on to reduce the damage of the boss.
While the boss does have some magic moves, he's mainly a physical attacker, and you'll want to use Rain to absorb any damage from those moves.
Rain Guide: All Stats and Skills
If you've obtained the Tsukiyo no Tachi and Armor of Gales inside the dungeon, you can equip both of them on Lasswell to make him a really good tank against the boss' Wind attacks. If you combine this with Multi-Cover from the Warrior of Light plus Shell, he'll be able to comfortable tank all hits from the devastating Heavenly Wind AoE skill.
Whenever you see Aether's next turn has an exclamation mark, you'll want to defend with your entire party. This is because he'll use Heavenly Wind, which is a very strong AoE attack that can easily wipe your party if you're not careful.
