How to Beat Liquid Thunder
Equip Fina with the Cape of the Raiju
If you paid 1000 Gil to Lid at the entrance, you'll be able to access the chest with the Cape of the Raiju before beating this boss. Make sure Fina has this equipped so that she takes half damage from Lightning attacks, making it a lot easier for your support to stay alive.
Can Use Fina as a Tank with Multi-Cover
If you have Multi-Cover from the Warrior of Light unlocked, you can make Fina an extremely effective tank for this fight. The combination of the Cape of the Raiju, Shell, and Multi-Cover lets her tank every single Lightning shot from the boss, keeping the rest of the party safe.
Target its Earth Weakness
This boss is only weak to Earth, meaning you'll want to use the Warrior of Light and Lid as your main attackers. You won't be able to get any other new Earth Visions until the end of Chapter 2, so you'll have to make do with those two for now.
Watch Out for "Charging Electricity!"
Whenever you see it charging up electricity, it will unleash a powerful attack on its next turn. Make sure to block with the entire party or stagger it to cancel the attack, and always pay attention to its actions so you're not caught off-guard from its attack.
