X Speed
|

X Attack
|

| Variation | Effect When to Use |
|---|---|
Gluttonous fang |
The user's HP is restored. Use when HP is about or lower than 50%. |
Destructive fangs |
Reduces the target's Defense. Use at the start of the fight, especially against All-Rounders and Defenders. |
Clamping fangs |
Applies a slow. Use to stay on top of targets, especially those with mobility moves. |
Feraligatr’s gameplay centers on switching between Crunch’s various effects based on the situation. All effects trigger through Feraligatr’s basic attacks and stack on top of the other.
Use Gluttonous Fang to recover HP when you’re getting low, Destructive Fangs early in fights to weaken tougher opponents like All-Rounders and Defenders, and Clamping Fangs to keep up with mobile targets.
The table above gives general guidelines, but your choice should ultimately depend on your playstyle and how the fight unfolds.
Crunch: Feraligatr Move Effect and Cooldown
When you use Crunch, three icons will appear above Feraligatr, representing the various effects of the move. The icons will keep rotating until you use the move again to select it or the timer runs out, so timing and awareness are key.
Since Feraligatr depends on melee attacks to secure knockouts, using Waterfall to initiate fights lets you close the gap quickly, gain a shield for safety, and control your target’s movement, setting up the perfect window to dish out damage.
Waterfall: Feraligatr Move Effect and Cooldown
| Distance | Effect |
|---|---|
| Under the Threshold | Stuns targets. |
| Over the Threshold | Throws targets. |
Waterfall will either stun or throw targets depeding on the distance stormed by Feraligatr. If it's under the threshold, it stuns the targets. If it's over the threshold, it throws them instead.
Utilize the stun to set up fights for your team and the throw to disrupt your opponents' positioning.
Additionally, when Feraligatr hits a wall or an opponent during Waterfall, the move will end instantly. Keep this in mind when using Waterfall. It can be used strategically in certain situations, but it can also lead to a bad scenario.
However, if Feraligatr hits wild Pokemon, the move will not end.
When you activate Big Jaw Bite, Feraligatr gains cooldown reduction for its moves. When you activate it again, the Pokemon charges towards the target, dealing damage based on the number of Crunch effects applied to it.
With this in mind, you should always apply multiple Crunch effects at your target first before using the second activation to maximize the move's damage. You can easily achieve by utilizing the cooldown reduction.
Big Jaw Bite: Feraligatr Move Effect and Cooldown
| Feral Chompers Combo | |
|---|---|
| Initiate with Unite Move then use Waterfall to quickly approach the target. Upon reaching the target, keep attacking the target while rotating between Crunch's effects and applying them. Once multiple effects are applied, end the combo with Unite Move's second activation. | |
| Matchup Notes | ||
|---|---|---|
| 1. The chart is based on our own experience playing Feraligatr. 2. Pokemon within each tier are unordered 3. Any Pokemon not shown here are still under investigation. |
||
Since Feraligatr relies heavily on its melee basic attacks to knock out targets, Pokemon with strong disabling moves, such as stun, sleep, and freeze, can prevent Feraligatr from doing any damage. If the Pokemon has both disabling moves and a high burst damage, that'll be a huge bonus as well.
| Pokemon | Explanation |
|---|---|
