Roster Tier List and Evaluations
SS Tier
Adaptive Brawler
Feraligatr is an adaptive brawler-type All-Rounder. It has strong strong basic attacks, which can be made more effective if used with Crunch's various effects, allowing the Pokemon to adapt to various situations during fights. It also has decent mobility, shielding, and crowd control in Waterfall, allowing the Pokemon to easily get to melee range of its target.
Top-Tier Sp. Atk. Brawler
Unlike most All‑Rounders, Moltres overwhelms opponents with immense Sp. Atk damage while still functioning as a melee frontliner. This gives it a clear advantage against Pokemon with low Sp. Def, especially since it can also rely on its basic and boosted attacks for damage—a rare trait among Sp. Atk users. Although limited to a single moveset—making it one‑dimensional—its raw damage output is undeniably top‑tier.
Overwhelming Damage
Solgaleo’s combination of raw damage, strong buffs, sustain, and early Unite move access makes it one of the most oppressive All‑Rounders in the game. Its only real weakness is a shaky early game and susceptibility to hard CC, but once it hits level 7, it dominates fights with ease.
Built for Dominance
Zacian is designed to dominate matches through sheer damage output. Although having underwent several balance changes reduced its power from its original state, its raw damage remains high enough to carry games.
S Tier
Power Through Precision
Aegislash is a skill‑based melee fighter that relies on calculated plays and precise move usage to switch between its formes depending on the situation. Mastering its kit requires careful timing and decision‑making, making it a high‑skill but rewarding All-Rounder to play.
Combo Specialist
Blaziken’s ability to freely switch between movesets removes the limitations most Pokemon face due to the game itself. This unique mechanic enables it to unleash fast, hard‑hitting combos that force opponents to react quickly or risk being knocked out. While it requires top-notch skill to properly execute its combos, Blaziken stands as one of the most versatile melee fighters in the roster.
Cuts Through Defenses
Ceruledge is a true attack-damage melee fighter with two playstyles. It can be a pure hitter with Psycho Cut and Flame Charge, weakening defenses and cutting down targets with a flurry of slashes. Alternatively, it can adopt a tactical approach using Phantom Force and Bitter Blade to outmaneuver and outplay opponents. No matter which playstyle it adopts, Ceruledge is a solid, reliable damage dealer.
High DPS Brawler
Flareon is a high-DPS All-Rounder. Its Flash Fire ability increases its Attack stat and strengthens its basic attacks' HP recovery effects as it fills its heat gauge. Once filled, Flareon emits heat waves, dealing damage to nearby enemies. The Pokemon is also quite mobile thanks to its Flare Blitz, Garnet Ignition, and boosted attacks, allowing Flareon to consistently stay close to its target and maximize Flash Fire's AOE damage. Its drawback, however, is that triggering Flash Fire takes time to set up and requires ongoing maintenance afterwards, which often leads to inconsistent damage.
A True Hybrid
Metagross is a cross between an All‑Rounder and a Defender. It excels in frontline melee combat and enhances its durability through shields and resistance to status effects. However, it lacks the raw brawling capability of All‑Rounders like Mega Mewtwo X, and its moves don’t enable the fluid, combo‑heavy playstyle of Blaziken, leaving it somewhat average by comparison. Even so, Metagross remains a versatile All‑Rounder and a reliable, impactful frontliner
A Nimble All-Rounder
Mimikyu possesses features that is common with All-Rounders but tends to be more of an assassin in its gameplay. The Pokemon is surprisingly good at picking off targets one by one thanks to having moves that deal extra damage the lower the target's HP is. However, it isn't a suitable frontliner, which All-Rounders tend to be, due to how its Disguise works. Since the Pokemon's HP is set to a percentage of its max HP when it gets hit by an opponent, it becomes less durable than normal, putting the Pokemon in an awkward situation. Nonetheless, the Pokemon's peculiar nature makes it a versatile Pokemon, which is the definitive feature of All-Rounders.
A Bursty Brawler
Pawmot's kit is a great mix of mobility and damage with useful mechanics and effects, such as cooldown reduction, stun, and knockback. Although it takes a bit of skill to pull off its combos, it's still a reliable damage dealer.
Two Pokemon in One
Scizor has two distinct playstyles depending on whether it stays as Scyther or evolves into Scizor at level 5. Scizor is a traditional frontline brawler, relying on Bullet Punch's HP recovery and low cooldown to outlast opponents. On the other hand, Scyther relies on the agility and burst damage from Dual Wingbeat to take out targets quickly, making it a typical assassin. Each form has its own strength and weaknesses but both do a solid job in their own right.
A Tier
Momentum-Based Brawler
Buzzwole’s kit revolves around locking down a single target and securing the knockout to trigger the effects of Beast Boost. Each knockout or assist makes it stronger, allowing Buzzwole to snowball in power as it continues participating in getting knockouts
Brawl or Burst
Dragonite can be played like a traditional brawler if it's using Outrage, turning its attacks into special melee boosted attacks with increased attack speed. This gives it the tools needed to go against other melee fighters. Alternatively, it can also rely on Hyper Beam's high burst damage to quickly knock out targets like Speedsters and Attackers. On top of these, Extreme Speed or Dragon Dance gives it decent mobility that synergizes well with the other moves.
Crowd Control Specialist
Dhelmise specializes in providing strong, effective crowd control in fights, making it a great team-oriented All-Rounder. However, it's also decent in melee combat with a solid attack damage.
A Reliable Frontliner
Empoleon can function as a dedicated brawler if it learns Aqua Jet and Whirlpool, with the former providing an attack speed buff and Sp. Def. reduction, and the latter offering healing. Alternatively, Metal Claw and Hydro Cannon give it a strong pair of crowd‑control tools, ideal for setting up fights. Regardless of the moveset chosen, Empoleon’s overall impact remains consistent.
Strong and Agile
Lucario has shifted in the meta over time but continues to stand as a reliable All‑Rounder. While it demands a high level of skill to play effectively, it remains a strong pick and is among the most agile All‑Rounders available.
Juggernaut
Machamp is an aggressive frontliner that relies on buffs and status effects to pressure opponents. Its kit combines mobility, crowd control, and immunity to negative status effects, enabling it to safely close in and overpower enemies.
A Powerful Physical Burst Lucario
Mega Lucario is an amplified version of Lucario's Power-up Punch and Close Combat moveset, transforming it into a lethal physical burst damage dealer. Its drawback, however, lies in its dependence on the Mega Evolution mechanic, which adds to its already high skill demand.
A Perfect Brawler
Mega Mewtwo X’s moveset is centered on brutal, close‑quarters combat, offering mobility, crowd control, and utility that complement its brawler playstyle. Its main drawback is its reliance on the Mega Evolution mechanic, as it only reaches peak strength in that form.
An Agile All-Rounder
Quaquaval's gameplay definitely fits an atypical All-Rounder. It excels in close combat fights, emphasizing on swift, well-calculated combos to take out targets. It's also great for teamfights thanks to its UNITE move that pulls in and stuns opponents.
Rewards Skillful Plays
Sirfetch’d has effective mechanics that reward skillful plays and is quite versatile. It can be a decent frontliner that relies on durability, shields, and attack parries using Detect and Leaf Blade, or a mobile assassin using Brutal Swing and Fury Cutter.
Solid and Well-Balanced
Tinkaton is an All‑Rounder with solid, well‑balanced stats. It offers strong crowd control and area damage, making it highly effective in teamfights, while still capable of holding its own in 1v1 scenarios. What truly sets it apart is its passive, Mold Breaker, which allows it to grow stronger as battles progress—giving it strong late‑game potential.
Disruptive Frontliner
Tsareena’s moves inflict slows and stuns on opponents while also granting it shields and HP recovery. Thanks to the synergy with its ability, Queenly Majesty, any moveset it learns becomes especially powerful. This combination makes Tsareena highly disruptive in battles.
Versatile Fighter
Urshifu's an excellent melee fighter who's gameplay depends on the choosen style. The Rapid Strike Style relies on sustain, mobility, and cooldown reduction to bombard targets with quick combos. On the other hand, Single Strike Style relies on durability and massive burst damage to execute targets as fast as possible. Regardless of which style Urshifu adopts, both require players to perform combos in a strict order to trigger all possible effects and mechanics that a style offers.
B Tier
Too Soft and Circumstantial
Azumarill is a decent All-Rounder in terms of its melee combat prowess thanks to its critical-hits. However, its durability is generally low for an All-Rounder, and the critical-hits from its ability is only effective in a 1-on-1 situation, making it circumstantial.
Late Scaling and Long Setups
In melee combat, Garchomp can hold its own against other All‑Rounders, largely thanks to its boosted attack mechanics. However, it scales too late into the game, and building up and maintaining its boosted attacks during prolonged fights often takes too long—leaving a window for simpler, more straightforward Pokémon to exploit.
Heavily Reliant on Mega Evolution
Mega Charizard X is a slightly better All-Rounder than Charizard and Mega Charizard Y in terms of a frontline fighter. It's better at close-quarters combat and more durable. However, it's strength heavily depends on the mega evolution mechanic, making it inconsistent in a match.
Heavily Reliant on Mega Evolution
Mega Charizard Y is simply a superior version of Charizard's Flamethrower and Fire Blast moveset. However, it doesn't quite fit the All-Rounder role given it mostly fights with ranged moves. It also relies heavily on the mega evolution mechanic, making it inconsistent in a match.
Clunky and Underwhelming
Palkia fits the mold of an All-Rounder, but it stands out compared to others due to its Sp. Atk. damage, making it effective against Pokemon with low Sp. Def. It also has built-in sustain and mechanics that increase its effectiveness in fights, which is a staple trait for All-Rounders. However, it feels to clunky to play, and its damage is quite underwhelming.
Scales Too Late
Tyranitar is a strong All-Rounder on paper and has no problem fighting on the frontlines and beating opponents in melee combat. But its scaling is just too slow for the meta, and there are simply Pokemon that outperforms it.
C Tier
Obsolete
Charizard has become largely obsolete in the current meta, as both of its Mega Evolutions have joined the roster and outperform it. Each Mega Evolution’s moveset is essentially an enhanced version of Charizard’s, making them the superior choice in nearly every situation.
Outclassed
Falinks fits the All‑Rounder role well, with gameplay that shifts depending on whether it learns No Retreat or Beat Up, and further branches based on its choice of Megahorn or Iron Head, as each move functions differently for each formation. However, its high skill requirement leaves it outclassed by other Pokemon that achieve similar impact with far less effort.
A Hard Catch
Gyarados lacks the versatility expected of an All‑Rounder. Its base attack damage and attack speed are fairly average, so it doesn’t excel in melee combat compared to most. Its moves also lack strong synergy, preventing well‑structured combos like those of Urshifu or Aegislash. Most critically, its evolution mechanic makes it a poor fit for the role: requiring the effort gauge to be filled just to evolve significantly hinders its effectiveness as an All‑Rounder, especially when compared to others.
Mega Gyarados suffers from the same drawbacks as its regular form, with the added limitation of relying on the Mega Evolution mechanic. While it does gain a respectable damage advantage over standard Gyarados, this benefit is overshadowed by its dependence on evolving, leaving its potential undermined by its drawbacks.
Attacker by Gameplay
Suicune’s classification as an All‑Rounder doesn’t align with its actual design or playstyle. It lacks mobility moves and primarily deals damage from range, resembling more of an Attacker. Its offense stat is also significantly higher than its other stats, a trait typically associated with Attackers. While Suicune does have certain features common to All‑Rounders—such as its boosted attack and aspects of its passive—these are overshadowed by its gameplay, making its role ambiguous.

| Melee Combat | All‑Rounders are expected to serve as frontline fighters, excelling particularly in melee combat. Pokemon that perform better at engaging and winning close‑quarters battles will be ranked higher on the tier list. |
