Battle Item Tier List: Best Items to Use
| Timbre | Effects |
|---|---|
| Poison |
Basic Attack: When the Pokemon hits with a basic attack, opposing Pokemon are left poisoned for a set amount of time. This effect can stack up to 5 times. Boosted attacks deal additional damage. Shift Gear: Basic attack speed is greatly increased for a certain number of basic attacks that follow. Overdrive: Has the user unleash explosive poison in the designated direction, dealing damage and poisoning the first opposing Pokemon it hits, as well as nearby opposing Pokemon |
| Electric |
Basic Attack: The Pokemon’s basic attacks have a longer range. Boosted attacks restore this Pokemon’s HP and decrease the movement speed of opposing Pokemon. Shift Gear: Movement speed is greatly increased, then gradually returns to normal. Overdrive: Opposing Pokemon the user has recently dealt damage to are left unable to act for a short time, and an electric current will jump to nearby opposing Pokemon. |
Toxtricity's gameplay revolves around changing timbres using Shift Gear. Each timbre gives bonus effects to the Pokemon and its other moves. Knowing when to change timbre is key to mastering Toxtricity's kit.
Shift Gear: Toxtricity Move Effect and Cooldown
Switching to Poison timbre boosts Toxtricity’s attack speed and gives its attacks a poison effect, allowing it to deal damage more efficiently. This is especially effective in 1v1 scenarios against other damage dealers.
Switching to Electric Timbre increases Toxtricity’s attack range and movement speed, enabling it to deal damage from long range with enhanced mobility. This is particularly effective against slow melee opponents, where Toxtricity can capitalize on its range advantage. In addition, its boosted attacks restore HP and apply a slowing effect, turning each strike into a reliable source of sustain.
Using Shift Gear while Overdrive is on cooldown resets its timer once, allowing Overdrive to be cast again. To maximize efficiency, always follow Overdrive with Shift Gear—this ensures Toxtricity can trigger both of Overdrive’s timbre effects in succession.
Successive uses of Shift Gear only reduce Overdrive’s cooldown—they do not fully reset it.
Overdrive: Toxtricity Move Effect and Cooldown
Punk Rock lets Toxtricity recover HP when its basic attacks hit targets with reduced movement speed. The slow can be applied by any source, making the effect versatile. This also works within a speed flux zone, turning slowed enemies into opportunities for sustain.
It's highly recommended to get the red buff from Escavalier to make Toxtricity's attacks apply a slow on each hit, triggering Punk Rock's healing effect.
Punk Rock: Toxtricity Passive Effect and Cooldown
During Venom Distortion, Toxtricity cannot use basic attacks but can still move and cast moves. To maximize efficiency, use Overdrive, then follow with Shift Gear to reset its cooldown, allowing Overdrive to be cast again. Keep moving to hit as many targets as possible—this ensures both of Overdrive’s timbre effects trigger during Venom Distortion.
Venom Distortion: Toxtricity Move Effect and Cooldown
| Venomous Encore Combo | |
|---|---|
| Before starting the combo, make sure to shift to the Poison timbre first. Once it's set up, use Venom Distortion to begin the combo. During the performance, use Overdrive, then follow up with Shift Gear to reset its cooldown, then finish with another Overdrive. | |

Rating: ★★★★ • Get safely get close to Toxtricity using Phantom Ambush and burst it down with its combos. |
Mimikyu
|
Rating: ★★★★ • Can quickly get close to Toxtricity with Shadow Sneak and lock it down with Play With Me.... |
Toxtricity's galring weakness is its low mobility and durability. Pokemon that can quickly get close to Toxtricity and burst it down fast are the best counters against it.
Taking advantages of each timbre's effects will help Toxtricity win against these Pokemon.
| Ranged, Fragile Pokemon with High Damage |
|---|
Much like Toxtricity, these Pokemon prefer to keep their distance from opponents when fighting. They also have high damage potential that can be dangerous for Toxtricity.
Winning against other Attackers is usually a matter of striking first, as the slower one will be forced to be defensive. You can switch to electric timbre to get a range advantage and chip away at their HP with basic attacks. You can also utilize Overdrive's cooldown reset by using Shift Gear, allowing Toxtricity to trigger both of the move's timbre effects in quick succession.
| Brawlers/Combo-heavy Pokemon |
|---|
These Pokemon excel in close combat and rely mostly on their attacks or combos to deal damage. They are also durable enough to tank Toxtricity's damage.
Since most of these Pokemon are melee, take advantage of Electric Timbre’s extended attack range and slowing effect to keep them at bay with basic attacks, gradually draining their HP from a distance. If they manage to close in, use Shift Gear for the movement speed boost and reposition. Should they persist in attacking, switch to Poison Timbre to capitalize on the bonus attack speed and poison damage, punishing them up close.
| Highly Durable Pokemon |
|---|
These Pokemon are extremely durable, making it hard for the Pokemon to take them out alone. With that, it's best to group up with allies to bring them down with the help of Toxtricity.
Take advantage of Electric Timbre’s extended attack range and slowing effect to keep opponents at bay, steadily chipping away at their HP from a safe distance.
| Non Threats |
|---|
These Pokemon can fall quickly to Toxtricity's damage and have little no ways to counter it. Once Toxtricity is able to freely attack from range, they'll have no means of retaliating.
