Burst Damage Build Explanation

This is a typical Speedster build focusing on maximizing Morpeko's burst damage.

  • Attack Weight gives Morpeko a large flat amount of Attack stat, improving its damage output.
  • Charging Charm provides Morpeko with increased movement speed and more Attack stat. Morpeko's mobility allows it to quickly charge the item then deal increased damage, which works nicely with its gameplay.
  • Accel Bracer further increases Morpeko's Attack stat whenever it knocks out opponents or gets an assist. It also gives a bit of cooldown reduction for its moves.
  • Razor Claw can be a replacement for any of the items. Its passive allows Morpeko's attacks to deal increased damage and slow the target whenever it uses a move.
  • Eject Button gives Morpeko another mobility tool to quickly get close to its target.
  • The build's Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 6 Brown Emblems for more damage and 6 White Emblems additional HP. This can be achieved by equipping at least two (2) Emblems that are both Brown and White.
  • Equip Emblems that improve Attack to further increase Morpeko's burst damage.
  • Sp. Atk., Sp. Def., and Defense can be freely traded for the other stats.

Max Mobility Build Explanation

This build focuses on maximizing Morpeko's movement speed, allowing it to roam around faster to knock out opponents or to score.

  • Float Stone boosts Morpeko's movement speed by a flat amount and further increases it when it's out of combat. It also gives a decent amount of Attack stat for damage.
  • Charging Charm further increases Morpeko's movement speed, and its passive effect charges faster given its enhanced speed.
  • Accel Bracer increases Morpeko's Attack stat whenever it knocks out opponents or gets an assist. It also gives a bit of cooldown reduction for its moves.
  • Attack Weight can be a replacement for Accel Bracer if you'll be scoring more throughout the game, otherwise, stick to Accel Bracer.
  • X Speed ensures Morpeko reaches peak movement speed.
  • Eject Button can also work to give Morpeko a versatile repositioning tool.
  • The build's Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 6 Brown Emblems for more damage and 6 White Emblems additional HP. This can be achieved by equipping at least two (2) Emblems that are both Brown and White. You can also equip Yellow Emblems instead for the Movement Speed effect.
  • Equip Emblems that improve Attack for more damage or Movement Speed for more mobility.
  • Sp. Atk., Sp. Def., and Defense can be freely traded for the other stats.

How to Play Morpeko

Play Around Hunger Switch

Form Mechanics
Morpeko Full Belly ModeFull Belly Mode Fullness gauge decreases every 12s and whenever Morpeko uses a move. When the gauge is emptied, Morpeko transforms into Hangry Mode.
Morpeko Hangry ModeHangry Mode During this form, Morpeko gains increased movement speed. The Fullness gauge increases every 3s and whenever Morpeko eats a berry. When the gauge is full, Morpeko truns back to Full Belly Mode.

Managing the fullness gauge and knowing when to force a transformation are vital to Morpeko's gameplay since its move effects change depending on its form. Each form also has its own benefits and switching between forms resets Morpeko's move cooldowns, opening possibilities for tactical and situational plays.

It's best play around Hunger Switch's transfomations and effects to maximize Morpeko's strengths.

Utilize Spark's Follow-Up Attack

After using Spark, Morpeko can use the move again to leap towards the target, dealing damage to it and nearby enemies. Utilize this follow-up attack to deal more damage and stay in melee range your target.

You can also use the follow-up attack defensively if you use it to reposition, especially when escaping.

Spark: Morpeko Move Effect and Cooldown

Utilize Assurance Cooldown Reset

Spark and Hungry Supercharge Wheel apply a bolt mark on targets they hit. During Hangry Mode, hitting marked targets with Assurance resets the move's cooldown.Utilize this mechanic to deal more damage or for more tactical use.

How to Win Against Even Matchups With Morpeko

Taking advantage of Morpeko's mobility and triggering its Hunger Switch forms will help Morpeko win against these Pokemon.

Force Them to Play Defensively

Ranged, Fragile Pokemon with High Damage
Alolan Ninetales ImageCinderace ImageGreninja ImageMega Mewtwo Y ImageTyphlosion Image

These Pokemon prefer to keep their distance from opponents when fighting. They also have high damage potential that can be dangerous for Morpeko. However, they are forced to play defensively if Morpeko manages to get close to them.

During Full Belly Mode, use Spark's follow-up attack to quickly get to melee range then use Assurance and Hungry Supercharge Wheel to burst them down.

During Hangry Mode, utilize Assurance's cooldown reset to repeatedly blitz through them while evading their attacks.

Utilize Superior Mobility

These Pokemon excel in close combat and rely mostly on their attacks or combos to deal damage. They are also durable enough to tank Morpeko's damage.

Use your moves in quick succession to chip away at their HP while avoiding or minimizing the damage you take. Once their HP is critically low, fully commit to the knockout. If you're on Hangry Mode, use Morpeko's increased movement speed to evade their combos.

Strike First

High-Mobility and High-Burst Pokemon
Absol ImageDarkrai ImageDodrio ImageGalarian Rapidash ImageGengar ImageLeafeon ImageMeowscarada ImageMeowth ImageTalonflame ImageZeraora ImageZoroark Image

Much like Morpeko, these Pokemon are incredibly agile and deal high burst damage. The best way to win against them is to strike first.

During Full Belly Mode, use Spark's follow-up attack to quickly get to melee range then use Assurance and Hungry Supercharge Wheel to burst them down.

During Hangry Mode, utilize Assurance's cooldown reset to repeatedly blitz through them while evading their attacks.

Stick with Allies

Highly Durable Pokemon
Articuno ImageBlastoise ImageCrustle ImageGoodra ImageGreedent ImageHo-Oh ImageLapras ImageMamoswine ImageTrevenant Image

These Pokemon are extremely durable, making it hard for Morpeko to take them out alone. With that, it's best to group up with allies to bring them down with the help of Morpeko.

Chip away at their HP and stay on top of them using your moves and superior movement speed.
