To unlock the Boltreaver Astalos mutation, you'll need to first acquire Astalos itself by repelling the Invasive Seregios, then reintroduce it to a thunder habitat with 3 or more lightning-focused monsters.

We suggest introducing Astalos to the thunder habitat in Broadleaf Basin, where the lightning-focused monster Tobi-Kadachi already resides. From there, you can introduce Astalos itself (it's a lightning-focused monster, so it counts) and one more lightning monster like Lagiacrus or its Ivory variant to trigger the mutation!

Boltreaver's natural ice resistance is two down arrows. You must have used a double thunder dual-element Boltreaver for reference. Also, apparently mutations like Dreadqueen Rathian and Boltreaver Astalos can't appear in the overworld to be fought for their materials. Only subspecies like Pink Rathian can.
