How to Encounter Elder Dragons
Continously Defeat Monsters at Night
To encounter Calamitous Elder Dragons players need to keep defeating monsters at night. Note that defeating monsters by attacking them and immediately downing them does not count towards this. However, players can instead enter the battle and use the quick defeat function to count towards this.
Each of the four Elder Dragons can randomly spawn upon defeating a Monster during night time. In the case that you are farming one, we recommend saving and then reloading as Elder Dragons take long to despawn!

How to Beat Elder Dragons
Repel Then Defeat Them
Players will first need to repel the monster by reducing their HP by a certain amount.Note that players can repel these elder dragons even if their hearts deplete to zero. During their next encounter with the monster, the Calamitous Elder Dragon will start with the depleted HP. It is then that players can defeat the elder dragons by reducing their HP to zero.
Players cannot earn EXP or rewards if they only repel the Elder Dragon.

Enhance Skills and Habitat Restoration
Defeating an Elder Dragon improves battle ally skills and habitat restoration effects. This makes it a good objective to seek out for those looking to maximize their monsties' build.
It is important to note that players cannot receive the specified unique decoration as a reward if players only repel them.

Cause Unknown Eggs to Appear
On top of enhancing habitat restoration, defeating an area's Elder Dragon causes unknown eggs to appear in certain areas making it an essential for players who are seeking out rare Monsties.

Calamitous Elder Dragons are extremely strong monsters that are able to bring about destruction and greatly affect the surrounding the environment. These are very high levelled monsters so take caution when you activate them in the area.
