List of Contents

The Yian Garuga will be in the eastern area of Azuria, amongst a rocky clearing where players need to head to to progress the main quest.
| Clue | |
|---|---|
| 1. | Tracks-and signs of something running. Hmm... These are quite distinctive footprints. |
| 2. | Powerful legs to support a giant frame. Plus, it walks with a peculiar gait... |
| 3. | The ground here is broken. Such mighty legs. Perfect for ramming attacks with that huge body! |

Picking up the three invasive tracks will highlight the Invasive Yian Garuga's powerful legs. After attacking it to make it behave strangely, aim for its legs by using slash type attacks. Eventually you will interrupt the monster's big attack and retreat.

| Turn 1 | Potent Poison Tail |
| Turn 2 | Potent Poison Tail |
| Turn 3 | Territorial Raid Enrage Status |
For the regular phase, the Invasive Yian Garuga will focus on using Potent Poison Tails and no regular attacks. The last turn will then be a team wide attack and willl also cause the Yian Garuga to enter enrage status.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 | Energize/Potent Poison Tail |
| Turn 2 | Invasive Poison Raid/ Flare Blast Normal State |
Its Enraged state is a much shorter turn sequence. After using Energize, it will then follow it up with an AoE poison attack then switching back to its regular state. Alternatively, the Yian Garuga can also begin the turn with a Potent Poison tail. If it does, it will follow this up with a Flare Blast instead.
| Invasive Yian Garuga Tips |
|---|
|
|
We highly recommend at least reaching level 70 before attempting the Invasive Yian Garuga. These bosses are considered as some of the hardest content in the game so preparing properly is crucial.
Antidote Powder is a near mandatory item that will let you cleanse the Severe Poison that Yian Garuga inflicts. This is especially helpful against Invasive Poison Raid as its a teamwide poison attack so be sure to use it when Yian Garuga's gonna unleash its Poison Raid move.
Yian Garuga's resistance to Blast and Paralysis are low. Ensure that you're able to capitalize on these status ailments to gain an advantage damage wise and turn wise with paralysis' turn skips.
Kora with the Garangolm will help you inflict more damage using Kora's water elemental attacks. Kora can also apply Blastblight which helps with inflicting more damage due to Invasive Yian Garuga's weakness to the said status ailment.
Kora Partner Profile: Stats and Skills
Territorial Raid is Yian Garuga's most lethal attack. It deals high amounts of damage against your whole team who is also suffering from poison. These two combo will often lead to casualties so finding ways to stop Yian Garuga such as paralysis or fatigue is crucial to survive these turns.
Use Kinship skills or inflict topple or stagger to make it skip the AoE attack. Alternatively, you can also inflict blind or accuracy down to mitigate its effect.
As the first invasive species encountered during the game, the battle serves as a tutorial for how defeating Invasive Species allows the protagonist to retrieve endangered Monstie eggs. In this case, defeating the Invasive Yian Garuga unlocks the cave for the Rathian egg which the rangers release back into the wild.
How to Get Rathian and Weaknesses
After defeating the Invasive Yian Garuga, you'll be able to obtain the Slash (WYV) decoration and Quick Shot (BST) decoration on top of Yian Garuga materials.
