Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 Overview
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is a retro-inspired FPS developed by Auroch Digital and published by Big Fan Games and Devolver Digital. The game continues the brutal first-person shooting of the original Boltgun, combining fast movement and explosive weapons with the grimdark Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Players can choose between two playable characters: Ultramarine Malum Caedo and Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath. Each character has their own weapons, abilities, and playstyle as they fight through new locations and face forces from all four Chaos factions. The campaign also features branching paths, with different routes leading to unique levels.
The sequel introduces new enemies, weapons, and environments, including hive cities and jungle swamps. Players will face increasingly dangerous enemies such as Bloodletters, Juggernauts, and other daemonic forces while using weapons such as the chainsword and shotgun to tear through the opposition.

Auroch Digital and Big Fan Games announced that Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 will release on October 14, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement also revealed Vashtorr the Arkifane as the game's antagonist and confirmed that Mick Gordon will compose the music for the final boss battle.
June 23, 2026 | Demo Extended
Auroch Digital announced that the Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 demo would remain available following Steam Next Fest, giving players more time to try the game and provide feedback ahead of its launch.
May 21, 2026 | Demo Released
Auroch Digital released a free Steam demo for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 during the Warhammer Skulls Showcase 2026. The demo introduced both playable characters and offered a preview of the game's retro FPS combat.
The showcase also revealed that all four Chaos factions will appear in the sequel, with the forces of Khorne joining the previously revealed Chaos factions.
