Trails in the Sky the 2nd Chapter is scheduled to release on Septrember 17, 2026 for Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Switch 2, following an official announcement in December 2025.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Overview
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is the upcoming remake of the original 2006 role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom. The game is scheduled for a simultaneous release on September 17, 2026 for Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. The project is a modern rebuild of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, and Falcom has been public about its plans following the release of the first remake earlier in 2025.
The game returns players to the Liberl Kingdom and continues the story that follows Estelle and her companions as they deal with the fallout of events from the previous entry and search for answers tied to Joshua’s disappearance. The original SC plot centers on Estelle’s search for Joshua, the appearance of agents connected to Ouroboros, and a series of revelations that raise the stakes across the continent
This remake preserves the series’ turn-based combat roots but layers in modern tweaks seen in the first remake. Much like the remake of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, it is also likely to recreate the Liberl Kingdom in full 3D with updated visuals and character models.
